Nearly every section of that forum has a post in dated today. Looks to be active enough to me. Our point however was that you are unlikely to find many Lineage II players on a GuildWars fansite...logic would denote checking onto a Lineage II fansite, I'm sure there's hundreds of fansites.

Your first month will be free. It has been a year ago for me, but I am quite sure when I bought the game the first month was free. You do need to enter credit card details on day one, but you won't get charged anything till the first month is over. So if you cancel your account before the first month is over you'll not be charged anything.

I actually think it was a clever move. Guildwars@GameAmp is THE quickest way to get any info on any game. You would be surprised how horrible most of the forums out there are. Posting something here will almost always get you the answer you want.
