A Villain show...why not?

I've been wondering about this for some time now. So, here it goes...why don't they ever make a show about Villains? Whether it be a movie or a TV series or something?

And if they do, why must they turn the villain into a psuedo hero towards the end or try to gain some type of sympathy? I mean, why can't a Villain get his/her own show and let it stand at that. There are a lot of great Villains out there that can carry their own show and series.

Now, with the tv show "Heroes" (one heck of a show BTW), they could have easily done the opposite twist to this and named it "Villains" and would have gotten the same boost if not a bigger following. Would we have Hero movies without Villains? NO! We would not. And when they put some Villains in Hero movies, they always downplay some of the important ones; Juggernaut in X3...terribly portrayal, heck even Magneto was poorly portrayed in those.

My question is...What Villain do you think could carry their own Movie? or what Villain concept would carry it's on TV series?

They do make them on occasion, such as the movie the Villain with Kirk Dougless, Arnold Schwarzzenegger and Anne Margaret. Sure it's a comedy, but the main character is the villain and he remains dastardly (if incompetent) for the entire movie. Other shows with the bad guys as the star would include the cancelled TV show Profit and quite a few horror movies.

I'm speaking more on the Sci-Fi tip, like they do with the X-men, FF4, Heroes, etc. Outside of Terminator (which the sequals turned the killing machine into a savior), I don't recall any good Sci-Fi movies made regarding Villains at all.

I guess I'm looking for the blatant Villain and not a subtle, read between the lines Villain.

Well they are making a Magneto movie as a branch off of the X Men ones, but I see what you mean about a lack of good 'villain' movies.

It's a Kids show from what I hear.It's about some whacked out Alien that trys to take over the world.But there is a Show that i've seen previews for it's called Heist(?) It's about a group of people who rob banks in all.Looked good but never came around to watching it.

Because there really isn't a large market for shows/movies about bad guys. Besides that is what horror movies are for and lets face it, there is plenty of those around, and they are mostly pretty crappy.

How about Deadpool? He's an awesome, funny, stupid and completely clueless Marvel character.
He's not completely evil though, but not good aswell. (He's just stupid) He's a mercenary, so he just gets told what to do.

I havent seen him in any animated serie yet though... WTB

Hmm, well sandman, in spidey man 3 is an awkard one, hes gone villain to hero and back more times then i can count on my hands, mind you hes not the only marvel dude

But yes more villain shows, tributes as such to the great villains that have shaped our lands

How say documentaries on the greatest villains of all time

top 3 on the program i saw (and mentioned earlier)

The joker - batman

Darth vader - well we all know

Victor Von Doom - Fantastic 4

But yeah how say documentaries on the top villains from famous movies and series, so a documentary on von doom, and kingpin (spider man) ect

I just want to see a good Sci-Fi movie about a big named villain being the focal point. I know what society wants to see, but every now and then the movie industry needs to slip something new to excite the senses.

Give me Villains or give me death!

I vote for a good Magneto movie (even though they wrote him to be on both sides of the fence), Red Skull maybe??

Who else has ideas for a good villain that can carry a movie or tv series?

Not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for, but Bad Lieutenant might catch your interest.
Mind, it's not your average Hollywood Action Hero movie with a Villain in stead of a Hero.

That has B Movie written all over it...lol. But if he tried to turn his life around, then that would sour it for me :(

I'm not morbid or anything, but I just think the Villains are due for some love in a movie dedicated to them.

Villains arent sexy. heroes are sexy and sexy sells therefore villains do not sell err go no villain movies visa vi sexy is better hence heroes > villains.

And on a serious note, there aren't many, or any, villain movies because people don't go to the movies to root for the bad guy. There are enough bad guys in the world and they could go to any downtown metropolitian area in the middle of the night to watch a crime in progress with their popcorn and soda and root them on. Heroes movies, and movies in general, are ways for people to escape their real life problems and get lost in a dream.

But, if you want to see a villain movie, rent Elephant. After you watch it, you'll see why there truely are no "villain" movies. I had to watch this movie for an undergrad class one summer. It's pretty graphic so you might not want to let the kids watch it.

Why don't people just learn to face and deal with the short comings of the world and learn from the many mistakes that happen. A nicely written Villain movie will bring so many issues to the table and probably give some good discussion over possible remedies to certain behaviors.

And the reason I don't go downtown or anywhere else for that matter to see some good Villainy is because those actions are not thought out clearly and the messages are always lost when the 'next big drama' unfolds. I want to put it where as many people can see it and see it again. Real life situations are always viewed from a public consensus and never from the individual's concensus.

If I had the ability, i'd write, produce and direct my own little Villain saga just to see what reaction it would receive.

But that was an interesting trailer, I wonder if there are other trailers to that one, Big, that I can see. I may want to find that movie and watch it.
