Build Modification

So we all know that GuildWars has, with the addition of templates, moved to a era of specialization. I however, like my current build(shown below) but find that it is boring (ie I want to change it up a little). It is an all around build, with defence, offense and self heal. How can I make it better? Are there skills that you feel would be better on my bar?
*Power Attack
*Galrath Slash
*Sever Artery
*Watch Yourself
*Balanced Stance
*Healing Signet
*Troll Unguent
*Res Sig

My points are spread as follows
*Strength: 8 + 1 + 1(helm)
*Swordsmanship: 11 + 1
*Tactics: 9 + 1
*Wilderness Survival: 8

RE: Build Modification

Take out Balanced Stance, Troll Unguent, and possibly Healing Signet.

Put in Deadly Riposte, Gash, and Distracting Blow.

This is of course assuming that you want a prophecies based, eliteless build.

RE: Build Modification

Power Attack: swap for gash
Galrath Slash: either keep or change to final thrust/dragon slash/quivering blade, (this is your preference)
Sever Artery: keep
Watch Yourself: either keep for missions or places that it may come in handy, or swap for distract blow or an dragon slash/quivering blade
Balanced Stance: kick for an attack skill or "To The limit" or similar skills
Healing Signet: Keep
Troll Unguent: Swap for either a skill that increases attack speed (e.g frenzy) or increases movement speed (e.g sprint)
Res Sig

hope that helps

RE: Build Modification

Interesting suggestions, keep them coming. I have access to all 3 campaigns though I don't have all the skills. As for elites, I'm not against using them. I just have not found one that I want to use.

Well, crippling slash is a great elite, as you have a snare and bleeding, so you can get rid of sever and bring another attack skill.

"You're All Alone!" is pretty good as well as its also a snare and can weaken targets.

Oh and two more skill ideas could be either mending touch (monk) for spammable, easy, quick and low cost condition removal or plague touch (necro) for spammable, easy, quick and low cost condition transfer which can be annoying for any target.

RE: Build Modification

Here's a build I absolutely love on my warrior:

Shove [Factions Elite]
Critical Chop or Crushing Blow or Power Attack
Dismember or Irresistible Blow or Seeking Blade
Distracting Blow
Burst of Aggression
Disciplined Stance
Watch Yourself
Res

This build is perfect for the Torment areas, especially Gate of Pain.

Run up to the 2nd most dangerous target and Shove him. Then switch to the 1st dangerous target, usually a monk. Then take him down.

In Gate of Pain, Shove one of the Terrorwebs in the middle of his Meteor Shower and switch to the other one and interrupt him.

NOTE: Use stonefist Gauntlets, works wonders with Shove.

And I have disciplined stance in there because I usually am the tank. Works great to get the dangerous skills with long recharge out of the way. If there's AoE, go up and aggro, then while they're casting it, move away from the enemies and your team. Then once it's out of the way, go back to the enemies.

RE: Build Modification

Looks like I'm gonna have to go buy some new skills if I want to test them out. Now days, in PvE is it better to either go damage or tank or do you find having a combination of both a good idea?

RE: Build Modification

I usually go with a combination of both. For me, Dolyak Signet is as much tanking as I ever need, usually. I'll occasionally have Watch Yourself in there as well, and I usually have Lion's Might with me too. Then a res and four attack skills, and that's basically my build.

RE: Build Modification

As far as PvE Normal Mode goes, a simple combination of Dolyak Signet and proper aggro is enough for any warrior, as melee enemies are back to their "dumb" days. Self reliant healing is always a plus, though again, for PvE, Dolyak Signet + Healing Signet is more than adequate.

In Hard Mode, you'll want to invest in a damaging build, especially if you're going to hero/hench certain areas, for instanc, places like Saoshang Trail, where in some groups, there will be more than 3 enemy healers. In those cases being able to take out a healer one at a time, single handedly is a huge plus.

Avoiding skills like Dolyak Signet in HM is also my recommendation, since the AI there tends to run. To that respect, remember to bring a snare.

EDIT: W/A Dragon Knight Added in this link to my W/A Adrenial build ^^
