Which Campaign did you like the best?
Prophecies [92.86%]
Factions [0.00%]
Nightfall [7.14%]
EDIT: this is from my guild site

post what your favorite is, and why, here
I liked prophecies the best because its "first impression" feel of the game, when everything was new, it was an epic game. Even though lvl up is slow, it makes it more RPG related with slower lvl up. Classic Game

For me It's a tie between Nightfall and Prophecies. I really got into guild wars because of the story and the people in it. Factions had no real constant well felt story. With nightfall i felt that they brought it back to the game. If i had to really really choose between the two....I go with Nightfall. There are so many more options, huge re-playability, i'm still learning about it, and the abundance if different kinds of missions always keeps me entertained.

Factions is my favorite, I like the whole Pvp oriented thing about it. But the other campaigns are nice too, my second fav is definitely prophecies.

I find that Prophecies is the best, it has the best combination of story and progression. Factions was good initially but I lost interest rather quickly. NightFall is better than Factions but, I feel that heroes have made getting a good pug even less likely, I don't always want to go solo with heroes and you can't always get friends/guildies to join in for something.

Prophecies FTW! I love it. Factions is a good place to farm (i find rare materials there easier) Nightfall. I enjoy the game, but i have not really gotten into it yet. I just need to get further in i believe.
Likeness Percent
Prophecies 99.99999999%- it is the first. you gotta love it
Factions 30%ish- good for farming, not really good PvE some skills are very helpful in other places
NightFall 89%- I have enjoyed it so far, very challenging and has a fairly good storyline, but it is fun to just go run around and kill stuff

I liked prophecies the best, because of slow leveling, most varied scenery, and first encounter in Guild Wars.

there are very few sequels made in anything that are better than the original, the original always remains as the one that caught our attention and has kept us either playing or watching the series.
nearly 25 months ago, GW came out, and still, when i make a core profession character, i always start them out in chapter one and progress them through accordingly. i enjoy chapter one the most because of its vast array of scenery, different high level areas with different monsters. (i honestly am tired of killing margonites and shiro'ken in the other two chapters) i like the fact that i can kill high level stone summit, humans, hydras, trolls, mursaat, giants, shadows, and bugs, all in chapter one, without entering into a special area.
so yea, i'm partial to chapter one, i also like how explorable and open it is to adventure without needing to follow a storyline. i know with my new ranger i pretended she came from lions arch and grew up in Kaineng, not from ascalon. :P
i enjoy Factions Allaince Battles, that was the best part about it by far, that and the ritualist.
i dont discount Nightfall to being good, but i think my hype meter about it was too high and i expected too much from it and it didn't deliver to the hype that i had thought it would've been.
out of the three, i've played in C1 likely 80% of my playing time, C2 18% and C3 2%, 2% might sound like i haven't given it a chance, but remembering, i've banked thousands and thousands of hours of play time and my AFK time has maybe been .0001% of all that time. :D
All lies and jest, still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest.

Prophecies does it for me. The nostalgia always gets me with it. The scenery is still stunning and the Only last month i made a new character in Prophecies, just to replay some of those classic missions and moments (first time you meet the Charr, first time you get a gold drop).
After that, i'll admit Nightfall is my second favourite. The ability to use Heroes and extended Elite explorable areas is fantastic and almost limitless in replayability.
Factions, being PVP orientated was always my least favourite. Which is not to say i didnt like it. I loved some of the scenery and although i thought the plot was a little weaker than prophecies or Nightfall it is still a fun game.
I realise i've rambled a bit but i thought i'd just share my reasons why i feel Guild Wars is a fantastic game.

It goes like this.
Prophecies-This was the first game. Where the game still seemed to have many mysteries. It seemed like a truly fun and adventurous mmorpg.
Factions-Improved on pvp tremendously. Not only with alliance battles but with the two new classes and new skills. It all meshed to make the game sweet as good heaven. Also the pve was still fun and team based. Sure there are less people but who cares wright?
The Storage Update+Hard mode-I hold these in more esteem than nightfall...They made the game fun for me again.
Nightfall-Where to begin. Ok first off all when I started this game I was hyped up! All these new features and stuff and they said so they were going to fix so many things(that turned out not to be broken). Well for me it was nothing but broken promises and disappointment. Don't get me wrong during the nightfall era of guild wars many good things are happening.
Hard Mode-Great
Storage-Really great
Treasures-Great
New classes-Great
Hero battles-Great
New Henchmen ai-great
New weapons-great to an extent
New skills-great
But the again there are some very negative things that happened. AT least in my opinion.
Natural mods were replaced by inions devaluing lots of old weapons and auto devaluing the nightfall weapons unless they are incredibly rare.
Chest running has reached an all time ease. Making the gold economy(or in my opinion the real economy)go down the drain.
Hero's in not only in nightfall but in factions and prophecies as well. On top of that you can have 3 of them. This and the next problem helped kill non guild team play and pugs.
They spread us out to much. There aren't 8 million people playing guild wars. There is something like 3.5 million. That makes it very difficult to find each other when we need to do a mission. That and the economy crash has not only spread the people out but forced them to stay spamming up trade and local chat for hours to sell one thing.
Various changes to pvp and the nerf of the necro are only minor complaints of mine.
Varesh and Abbadon are worst antagonist than Shiro...cmon. Did you even try?
Beginning is too short and never brought back the pre searing feel of good ole prophecies.

What i really like is how proph mixes all kinds of regions in, in Fac and NF all you see is one climate one region, no different weather areas. And Proph is filled with stuff, its long, so is NF but Fac is small..imo.

I liked Nightfall the best. It had a lot of different things than both Prophecies and Factions. Worms!!!
I liked Factions a lot when it first came out because it was all new and different. I absolutely love the Alliance Battles! Its just getting out there and either owning or getting owned.
I started out liking Prophecies because it was all new. I quickly got tired of the quests that required miles and miles of running for a mear 200exp and a weapon I am just going to sell anyways.
Good Times!!!

Ive enjoyed Prophecies the most...slower leveling, variety of themes and landscapes..
The others are too fast and "monochromatic" for my taste. But I have to admit, all campaigns have their virtues.

for me its factions, i got into gw when factions came out, and bought proph at the same time, i started my first char in factions, i dunno, i really like proph, and nf, but factions was just my first real campaign, and i loved it, also got my first prot title on there.
and yeah, i think the pvp aspect of factions was cool, luxons v kurzicks, if you dont wana gvg and cant stand rage quitters in ra, those battles are great, as your not playing for any titles or anyhting really, your just there for fun or faction,
so yeah, factions for me

Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall, although the only time i go to Factions is to Hang on in SHing Jea with Previously Stated and his gang...i try to avoid factions because of the whole "Omg you Suxons!." "Shut up you Kurzdick!." thing when in the end they become allies....

For me prophecies is the best. Varied scenery. Lots of variety of enemies. Those fun to explore but hard to reach areas(kessex peak anyone?). The fact that it was the chapter were my 1st character was made. The fact that I think the charr, stone summit, and mursaat are all better enemies then the shiroken and margonites. Has the biggest zone in gw(snake dance). Has the hardest zone in gw outside of Rot(icedome).
Factions is my 2nd fave. I like because if i want to speed a character through the beginning part of the game I can do it 3-4 hours instead of the 7+ for nf and the 6+ for proph. Pretty nice scenery expect for that evil city. Has some pretty good elites. Easiest continent to achieve titles on.
Nightfall is definetely dead last. I find the scenery boring(savannah, swamp, and desert canyons are all stupid to me). The monsers are dumb(rain beetles, madness titans. the most annoying sound in the world). Istan feels bloated and takes forever. Don't like dervs or paragons. Varesh is just dumb. At least kormir wasn't retarded like rurik or togo. Ill give it props for that. I find wurm riding boring. All npc's look the same to me( i'm not being racist. the npc's in this game and factions all look identical to one another to me). I hate the hero's required for certain quests and missions dumb. Plus I don't use half of my heroes. All i use is the monks, koss, olias, and zhed. None of the others.

at the moment, i stand as follows:
Prophecies = 40%
Loved the story, cause it was fresh and appealing when it first came out. I like the female rangers from this campaign: they look so real sometimes! story was solid, and i didn't have to worry about forming an allegience to one group (like factions). i find my dervish coming back to see the great land of tyria quite often.
Factions = 10%
as a noob still trying to map everywhere of this game, shing jea seemed very easy at times, and once you finally settled in and made progress thru some of the main city areas, ther's a helluva lotta spiking! spiking is fun, but dying in 3 minutes isn't favorable at all for me.
factions had introduced the "factions" system, where faction gained could purchase any town to recieve any benefits, if available. it all comes down to the cryps and bloods in this game. what i felt disappointed about was i finished with my ranger from prophecies (luxon side), but i couldn't get anywhere else on the kurz side! i saved the lands from shiro, and i can't go back and buy kurz ranger armor from the house zu heltzer!?
i have been mapping the sides in my derv, and i have to ask: does the kurzick side seem easier to map than the jade sea? i think i mapped most of the kurz side in a few hours, where it took weeks for the jade sea...idk...
Nightfall = 50%
YAY! they introduced a class i can actually be good at! (dervish btw). let's face it: im a one-character guy. i don't deviate much to other classes other than ranger and dervish, sadly. dervs i guess are too balanced for some parties in NF, and rank last on the tank list, far behind warriors. love the aoe and semi-awesome self heals. stories ok, too much branching got me confused. after suffering through Factions, the branching storylines were a turnoff at first. HM is a nice addition, but i can't find anyone to vanquish with in my guild!
still love to AB, and its nice to have lost a bunch in aspenwood, but the feature to bring pvp characters to aspenwood!? i am so sold!
can't go wrong with the desrt theme. prophecies was too jungle oriented with meguuma. with a possible connection between the tyrian desert and the elona desert (maybe?) everything about the smaller stories of turai ossa and joko seem to fit. love the portals linking the two, as well.
leveling is very easy in NF, and i wished gate of anguish was slightly easier to do and find a group. monks, eles, tanks. seems those are the only classes anyone wants up there. poor dervs. i guess the world wasn't ready for the paragons or dervishes....this recent addition to GW is very class-specific, if not discriminatory at times. but you can't help stubborn players.
off-hand note: also to mention, since factions came out, i have lagged through 2/3 campaigns. prophecies doesnt have all that lagginess that factions and nightfall has. maybe they use the same servers for all 3 games? idk, but i upgraded and ended up building a whole new computer to run these past 2 games, but random d/cs around skill usage and salvaging items gets to be a massive hassle. if games' programming requires/involves alot of math, my update must be skipping zeros or misplacing decimals everywhere.

I like Prophecies because I feel a bit more of a sense of accomplishment when i hit certain points, like getting through the Northern Shiverpeaks into Kryta, or getting to Level 20, or beating my doppelganger finally...etc.
With that being said however, Nightfall is my favorite. It was a well balanced game, had a great story to it, and felt bigger than Prophs in expanse to me. Plus the Dervish class is just awesome.
Factions I hated. As a PvE'er, my girlfriend and I felt like we were left out of the game. The storyline felt slapped together, the character classes didn't do a lot to add to the game, and the elite areas were almost closed off to people who didn't belong to a guild. And if you had friends in other guilds, you had to be allied with the same faction, or else you couldn't ally with them. Factions was the reason that I almost didn't buy Nightfall.

Prophecies first because of the missions. the bonuses are fun and a challenge. Nightfall is a close second because i like my dervish. Factions is just boring until the last 2 missions.

Here's my list of my favorite campaigns numbered 1-3.
1.) Prophecies - This game was the absolute best. When I first played Guild Wars this is what got me hooked. Sure the leveling is slow, but it is a lot better IMO than the others.
2.) Nightfall - This game was a twisted game with awesome re-playability, and better graphics than the rest (also beautiful scenery).
3.) Factions - This game was kind of short, and was hard to understand.
Approving guides since November 2007.
