What up with all of these people saying 6-slot your stamina or 6-slot your health. I only got to 5 and my outcome angered me beyond beleif. I spent a bunch of inf on some SOs only for when I got close to 100% they weakened and one of them only gave 5%! Why? Why do you tell me to 6-slot? Its mostly a waste of a slot, whats a 5% increase gonna help me with? Is this something new to I9, if so I9 is going to be the top of my "Most Hated Issues"

It's called Enhancement diversification, and it's something that came into play around Issue 6 or 7. Basically, it means that if you put so many enhancements of the same type on one power they lose thier full potential. THe six-slotting refers to pre-I6 when you could six slot a power and push it past one hundred percent, the most common of which was six-slotting Stamina to give your charcter virtually unlimited endurance. Now the most you can do is 3 or 4 slot Stamina and get a near 100% boost to your recovery.
Just ignore the six-slotting comments and put your toon together the way you feel like.

Greenix, if you looking at information here or any other site, be aware of their posting date. Like VincentGX stated, this was pre-ED (enhancement diversification), and some of the feed back was from that time period. For a lil more info on the effects of ED Press ME.

6 slotting is now a must if you want the bonus of the IO's my stalker has so many bonus's now for IO's from extra end rate to 6.75 DEBT protection. IO's make it possible being that its usually / something or / something something so it makes up. Take the time to look at some of the Bonus's they are really nice.

Actually, with Inventions I've found that generally 4 slotting most powers will result in the most beneficial arrangements. Some set bonuses at the 6-slotted level are worthwhile, but mostly its the 3 and 4 slot levels that have the big perks, while allowing the same benefits as 5-6 slot SOs could do. 4 slotting most powers also allows you to slot up more powers and work in even more bonuses, many of which could stack with the ones you already have. I've gotten over 30% more HP on a scrapper, and even more on certain Tanker builds, just with proper 4 slotting.

I'd be interested to know where you might have seen 6 slotting recomendations for Health and Stamina.
If it was posted or written documentation it may be out of date. That used to be a functional strategy.
Even with the new enhancements available, those two powers only accept one type of benifit(other than enhancment stacking bonusses) so dual purpose enhancements will be pretty much worthless.

On the topic of IOs, has anyone thought of making a guide, or even a new section in the site, concerning IO combination bonuses and set bonuses and such?
Could be beneficial for everyone so I figured I'd throw the idea out there for anyone interested. Some of you guys could do a much better job then me since I don't play overly often.

Yeah I am eager to see things like that too, plus I would love to see the Statesman Task Force guide. If anyone needs help with an Invention Origin guide I would be very happy to help.

Actually, the bonus' are listed on the invention recipes at the auction houses. Simply go to a Wentworths Consignment house, and pull up the invention recipes for bid and if your tool tips is on, the details of that recipe will be displayed; the boost the IO initially gives, what you need to create the enhancement, and the bonuses you get for using the same set of IOs at the bottom. Not all of the recipes are available, but at least one of each set is there so you can see what is offered by each enhancement.

well i mean we need a guide that can have all of them in one nice place so you don't need to go trailing around for the right invention. Wentworth's is laggy...

my sniper power, moonbeam, has 2 IOs from one set to boost recovery, then 4 from another to boost recovery, damage, and recharge time of powers. it's great, because i also have 5 IOs with damage boost effects, and ED ignores them! and, one of them adds a 20% disorient effect, which is really handy.

so your saying that if I was to take out one of my SOs and replace it with a DO or IO it will not be affected by the reduction after 100%

Although not a slotting tactic that would be recommended because it would waste slots, if you do the math that is a correct statement.
Example:
Early on for some characters I will slot 4 or more damage DO's on a primary attack from my attack routine until I hit level 22 and swap out for SO's. Then I will change the 4 slots to be 3 SO damage and 1 Recharge Rate SO. Even though my damage is still hovering near 100%, I can execute the power faster therefore increasing DPS output.
Same for Defense type powers. You can slot 4 damage resistance DO's until level 22 on a Toggled Shield, and then after you switch to SO's, you slot it 1 End Redux, 3 Damage Resistance. Your damage resistance is close to the same(Still better with SO's), but the shield cost less to keep up and running when you have more powers to execute in the higher levels.
It goes by percentage. The DO's do not give you as much increase percentage, so you can slot more of them before you start creeping up on 100% where they want you to stop getting enhanced.
This only realy works for powers that can take more than 1 kind of enhancement. And that secondary enhancement is worth applying enhancements to.
