i'm planing on upgrading my processor from and AMD 64 4000 single core procesor to an AMD 64 4200 dual core.
anyway my question is this: Once the processor has been installed and recognised in the bios, is the a re-install of Windows or can i carry using the current install?
many thanks

Changing out a piece of hardware shouldn't cause you to have to reinstall windows, with the exception of a hard drive.
Now, if you wanted to install xp 64 bit version, or just a different os, it might be a good time to do it.

thanks for the prompt answer, 2Xknight
i am planning on re-installing vista home premium when the new processor is installed. lets just hope my new Zboard drivers will work when the new oS is installed.
which reminds me i seriously need to back up my 2 main storage drives. , last time i installed vista i lost all my files on my second hard disk through my own stupid mistake of not backing every thing up..:P
+credit for you...:)
