Guild Wars:Eye of the North

well bored here at college atm and i was browsing th GW:wiki page and found some information about Eye of the North and what we will be doing in it.

QUOTE
Features

Eye of the North will not include any new professions. James Phinney has stated that Eye of the North will involve character development beyond level 20, however Gaile Gray has clarified that this extended character development will not increase the actual level cap.

The expansion will introduce:

    * 40 new armor sets
    * 100 new profession-specific skills
    * 50 new PvE only skills
    * 10 new heroes
    * The Hall of Monuments, a place which will allow you to obtain unique titles, companions, armors and miniatures in Guild Wars 2 based on your achievements in the original Guild Wars. The Hall of Monuments will not support the transfer of items, characters or gold.

The PvE journey in the expansion will take the player through "acts":

    * Act 1: Covers 18 underground tunnels to aid the Dwarves in their struggle against a "fiery Destroyer". This will later lead you to the aforementioned Asurans and Norns.
    * Act 2: Three story arcs, which can be done in any order; exploring the Norns in the Far Shiverpeaks, the Charr homeland north of Ascalon, and defending the Asura on the Tarnished Coast against the Destroyer.
    * Act 3: The battle against the Great Destroyer.

The following regions have been named:

    * Depths of Tyria
    * Far Shiverpeaks
    * Tarnished Coast

Other useful info:

    * Collectors Edition for Eye of the North is possible, but not yet confirmed.
    * Armor in Eye of the North will use the insignia system like Nightfall.
    * New God realms in Eye of the North is possible, but not confirmed.
    * There are no new character slots or professions.
    * Auction house and marriage will not be implemented, but are possible for Guild Wars 2

[edit] Notes

    * G4 has confirmed that Eye of the North includes Norn and Asura heroes.

Information about The Great Destroyer.
QUOTE
The Great Destroyer is the title of the enemy of the Great Dwarf, whose true name is said to be contained within the Tome of the Rubicon. He is worshipped by at least some members of the Stone Summit, such as Hierophant Morlog. No known depictons of the Great Destroyer have been observed, and there is insufficient information to determine whether or not the Great Destroyer is an alias of some other, named entity, however the Stone Basilica near where the Tome of the Rubicon is buried bears a strong resemblance to the ruins in the Foundry of Failed Creations. The Great Destroyer has been confirmed to be the villain of Guild Wars Eye of the North.

RE: Guild Wars:Eye of the North

Will GW2 be as big as Prophecies or will it be as big as Factions and NF?

Also, I remember reading something about earthquakes but this says nothing about them hmm...

RE: Guild Wars:Eye of the North

From the only map shown of GW2, it is Tyria. But I'm sure with following expansions, we will see Cantha and Elona. Now with it just being Tyria right now, I'm sure the lands from EofN and then some will be there. Only about half of Tyria is explorable now. I'm sure there will be alot more to explore of Tyria with GW2. :)

Notice I didn't raise my hand either.*L*

There seems to be a group that are convinced that Gwen will be a big baddie. I figured the speculation was bound to happen.

Reason, logic and even pictures don't always defeat hope. *L*

RE: Guild Wars:Eye of the North

The Eye of the North expansion sounds really bad so far. I really don't like the idea of paying the money for an expansion and not earning any new character slots.

I really believe that in order to balance out the classes and finish off Guild Wars would be to have each class with an equal number of skills. Meaning the Nightfall/Faction classes would have a far greater skill list to open than that of Prophecies in order to balance that out.

No auction house planned is highly disappointing as well. The only thing the game has going for it is an expanded story which is easily hit or miss as it has been in previous expansions.

There seems to be too much focus on GW2 that this final expansion is just being pushed aside. However, the hard core gamer will certainly pick it up due to what it will bring to their GW2 account.

Personally, I really hope that with the addition of new heroes they allow solo-players to have a party entirely composed of them rather than just 3.

I suppose if the expansion were to sell for $29.00 rather than the full fledged cost, it would be more enticing.

I agree with you in some aspects, such as the main thing being new storyline, doesnt really excite me, I never really follow it. Also with the fact of it being pushed aside. They should settle with one game, if theres a GW3 we have to yet start all over again and maybe forget all our previous achievements. Just keep one game and expand it, its like paying a monthly fee if you want the next expansion, 30 odd pounds every 6 months.

*Agrees with Babinro, No New Character Slots?, So then whatever content you give us better be good, or the price better be right, b/c this Bob Barker thinks the price is wrong if there isn't a drastic cost reduction on GW:EotN.

ARGH!!!!

there are soooooooo many ideas and conspiracies that whenever i see somebody talking about a link between Gwen and GW:EN (GW2: EyeoftheNorth), or just ANY conspiracy involving her,
i tend to just click back a page/close the page entirely because i think they are just pointless and daft! :p

Who does actually think there is something going to happen anywhere in-game that gwen plays a part in?!? :S
(no offence, but, REALLY?! WHY?!) :S

RE: Guild Wars:Eye of the North

Maybe because Gwen is one of the biggest mysteries in all of GW. She appears in pre, gives you some quests (without an end or meaning) and then dissapears. If Arena-net then releases a new part of GW, which is called Guild Wars Eye of the North, I think it is quite simple ppl think Gwenis about to play a role in this part.
