quick question

Ok I got a quick question for all you badgers out there. Is it possible to get all the badges that come from contacts on 1 pass on a toon starting from lvl 1-50? Or do you need at some point to circle back and find someone with a certain contact for a badge missed?

RE: quick question

You can either circle back and ask people, or get a badge mission, get a team, have a team mate enter the mission, then you log and fetch you other character, join that team again and complete the mission, that way that toon gets the badge and you dont need to circle

Im not sure if both of your toons get the badge, id presume so though?

RE: quick question

I think i wrote the question a bit confusing, I was just wondering if i could hit all the contacts that give badges with out missing any on 1 toon. Say if i made a new toon and started at lvl 1 and ran him to 50 would i be able to get every single contact and the badge that they give? I hope wording it this way clears this question up sorry for the confusing first post

RE: quick question

I think there's a way to get all the badges from contacts in one pass. Honestly, there's not THAT many of them out there. Worse comes to worse, you can do a mission with a friend who has the contact and earn the badge from the mission as well.

RE: quick question

I too, would assume that you could do it all in one pass. One of the main problems I can think of would be slowing yourself as to not outlevel any contacts before you got the badges. But that could be easily accomplished by just getting yourself killed and accumulating debt (debt makes it take twice as long to level). So I guess you could multitask by working on deatless (although you can really hardly put a dent into it before you are in the 30+ level range) as you worked toward all the contact mission badges.

Oh, and if it is only the mish badges you are concerned about, I guess you could also just run them quickly, keeping your difficulty on villainous so you don't gain too much exp. And why not combine these two tactics if the speed of your leveling is still a problem.

Villains on Triumph:

Zarkon D'Morte, lvl 50 Energy/Dark Corruptor
Oompa Lou, lvl 50 Sonic/Kinetic Corruptor
Giggles McGee, lvl 50 Fire/Dark Corruptor
Darko D'Morte, lvl 24 Ice/Kinetic Corruptor
Breakneck Red, lvl 39 SS/Fire Brute

Heroes on Freedom:
Aldirah Bemerot, lvl 50 Empathy/Electricity Defender
Goodbye Blue Moon, lvl 42 Ice/EM Blaster

RE: quick question

You can do it in one pass as long as you're prepared ahead of time and are aware of the chain of contact introductions. The big one is going to be the efficiency expert badge. If you don't finish one of the missions in time, you'll never ever be able to get the badge O.o

RE: quick question

Actually, Efficiency Expert isnt all that bad. As long as you solo that set of missions, all you have to do is be prepared for it and go in with the proper mindset. BTW, the mindset is do the missions as stated by the contact; dont kill everything unless told to, and do it fast. I would also suggest having a friend who is about level 50 ready to join you at a moments notice in case you are having a hard time with a mission.

Actually, it's the lower level Accomplishment badges that are the killers. Run solo, liberal use of Debt, and only running on Villainous is the watch word here. First Example:

Port Oakes - you need to get 3 Contacts who have Badge Missions. Angelo Vendetti (Stone Cold, Mish: Deal with Niles Worthington) & Mr Bocor (Bone Collector, Mish: Retrieve the Loa Bone) by level 9. If you ding 10 before you get the missions; you probably wont be getting them yourself. Bocor also introduces you to The Radio (Plague Carrier, Mish: Unleash plague in Paragon) by level 14. So just in Port Oakes, you will have to do 6 newsies and the two Mayhem Missions to get the first tier contacts. A while back they would give their Badge Missions at the end of their mission offerings, but that appears to have changed recently. Be careful in any event though as mission offereings can still be random, and you may be stuck in a Story Arc when you are getting dangerously close to outleveling the contact. So I would suggest heading to Port Oakes as soon as you ding level 5.

Dont forget that in Cap au Diable, Dr Shelley Percy also gives a Badge Mission that is also usually at the end of her mission offerings (Mask Maker, Mish: Fight disciples & get chemicals) by level 14. so that's another set of newsies and a Mayhem to get her as a contact. Like I said it can get a little bit hectic at these levels if you are wanting to get the Badge Missions by yourself. In fact, if you want to do that; i wouldnt start teaming until I completed my Badge Missions in Sharkhead Isle.

But as stated previously; you can always run the missions that another person has for the Badges also. Find out if your Server has a Badge Channel and join it so that you will be more likely to find a team doing those missions, and other things like GM takedowns or mob farms if you wish to get those badges also.

Happy hunting!

RE: quick question

The best advise that I can give to you is take your time and don't team up. Keep that difficulty on Villainous. Don't do any hunting around the zones, only defeat in mission baddies.

I did this experiement that RonJ did with newspapers. I did it with missions though. I stealthed through the missions, collecting the mission bonuses only or whatever needed to complete the mission. Now, doing this you'll definitely be able to get all the contacts (and even the special ones that require certain badges, that gives out badges as well).

I got the Brute i was working with up to level 33 by doing this, and it happened pretty quickly as well (i took SS as a travel power). Now the risk you will run though is running out of contacts before your next level requirement, but the newspapers or hunt badge requirements at this point will get you through those gaps....Strikeforces or Respec Trials would be good fillers at this point as well.

But before you begin this quest, like stated above, make sure you map out all the possible contacts at a certain level and what badges, if any, they give. Don't just start doing missions if badges is what you're looking for. Do some pre-planning to make sure you stick to task. And by chance you miss something, never fret, because you can always join someone else's team to get the badge. Oh, and you'll also need to factor in the Mayhem Mission Badges as well. Those are level related as well and if you outlevel one, you won't be able to go back to get it, unless you join someone else's team to do so (and those are always best done running solo...it's easier to accumulate time to complete the mission with).

RE: quick question

Actually you don't really need to have stealth to ghost missions.Mission baddies wont aggro onto if you run past them fast enough,Sure they'll through a few attacks down but not enough to kill you. With my Regen. Scrapper I always run through Safeguard missions to either Powerlevel Sg folks or for a new contact. It helps alot and saves time.

Sorry, that's what i meant when i stated I Stealth through missions. I used SS to run past the mobs unnoticed to reach the mission objective.

This would be what we call the "Nogame tactic." When he was playing the game early in the release, he was a SS Stalker who blew through missions like they were nothing. I do believe he was the 2nd in the Inmates to hit Level 40 (the level cap at that time).

RE: quick question

Yes, it does work that good...I can vouch for the success rate, as I utilized it for missions and another Amper, RonJ utilized it for Newspaper missions...

It works fine and you can experience all of the content at the same time...

Now, the only drawback to this tactic, at this point in time, is the salvage drops that you may forego by doing so. So, if you need certain salvage items for inventions, enhancements, costumes, etc., I'd suggest checking when you first get into the mission to see if the enemy type in there has the potential to give you what you need. Other than that, you'll have a lot of success with this method.

It's been Trialed and Tested by Ampers, so we approve this message.
