| Questions from an old player coming back |

It's been awhile since I played the hero side of the game and I had some questions for you all. When I first started to play the game when it came out I played an Invuln/SS tank named Dark Behemoth and he was a beast. On the first holloween I tanked to of the giant pumpkin monsters in IP and was fine...couldn't hurt them but I was fine. Ah good times... then they made changes and I found reds and oranges slapping me around like a little punk(so much for being invulnerable). Kind of put a damper in my attitude since I liked soloing and made it kind of hard to keep doing so. I stopped playing for awhile then came back for CoV and then stoppped playing again. Recently a friend decided to start playing but she wanted to be a hero so I reopened my account. She made a claws/regen scrapper and I made an Invuln/Battle axe tank. I was wondering what you all thought of that combination. We just hit 20 and I seem to be doing ok on the normal heroic settings Do you think we'll be ok as we are and any input on ways I should build myself so we can survive better. I'm worried once we get to lev 35 I'm going to start getting my rear whupped with my new character like my old one was. I plan on taking all the primary powers and of course the fitness pool. Again any input would be greatly appreciated.

You're fine, just make sure you 3-slot (3 DmgRes) or 4-slot (4 DmgRes and 1 EndRdx) your defenses. I don't know what to say about Resist Elements and/or Resist Energies, taking them is debatable to a number of people.

As far as the builds, I don't have a lot of insight for you, but I was wondering how long ago you played before, if it was before ED maybe that's the reason you find your original toon a lil gimpier than before, or maybe something was "softened up" a bit via one of the issues that dropped since you had left. Just a thought...

Claws/Regeneration Scrapper and Invulnerability/Battle Axe Tanker is a good combination. Decent damage and good survivability.

Welcome to the site Rollz!
I went thru the same thing when I came back. I had played at launch for a few months and returned about 1-2 months ago now. I had a earth controller that was insane. I could stop a group of 20 enemies in 2-3 secs and they would be in complete lockdown to be ravaged by the team. Unfortunately things have changed drasticly with the lauch of the issues and I couldnt stand playing her anymore not realising why.
I can't seem to locate it right now, but after realising things had changed so much, I came upon a section on GameAmp (I believe it was Bronco that wrote it) regarding a break down of all the issue changes since launch. I suggest you read it if you havent checked up on all issue changes since you last played, its still a good point of view player wise. There's alot of link to other Amper's Tips and Hints also with in it.
Don't think that your old build is no longer any good, probably just needs to be adapted to the way the game is played/works now.
As for your choices of builds/architypes. Many haved said it before, be what you want to be. Alot of combos work well together if not all of them. Some just require a little more work and attention to get things accomplished.

If you have only been investing heavily in damage and not in defense yes you will get stomped as a tank of any type when you rush into a large group as you are stating you are doing.
Invest in defense and adjust your tactics you should be fine.
