Yeah I have been hearing total opposite reactions to it from people. I will judge for myself.

RE: Spider-Man 3

It was the worst movie I've seen since I was forced to watch High School Musical with accompanying singing six year old cousins. I'm not against seeing blockbusters for a laugh with some mates even if they can't be taken seriously in the slightest and would bore me unless under the influence, but the quality of the movie wore through any alcohol in my system and any jovial attitudes I had upon walking into the cinema.

Plus I have been told by an avid Marvel reader that on top of the film being a complete farce most of it almost makes a complete mockery of the Spiderman comics as well. I.E Green Goblin and Spiderman teaming up. Artistic Licence is fine: there is no way I expect them to keep the entire plot the same, but they shouldn't cheapen the experience for comic book fans like my friend just so they can get their impressive CGI finale with big noises and explosions to have even more people fighting in it.

RE: Spider-Man 3

As with all Comic-movie crossovers the die hard Spidey fans will tear it apart and hate it because they can't get 20 years of storyline into a 2 hour movie right.

I've heard that the graphics are awesome and it a fun movie to watch.

Put up your comics and go watch this alternate version of the Marvel Universe. Have we not all read the "What If" series? Just consider this another one of those.

As for Fantastic Four. They are going to have to reach deeeeeep to make up for the total suckage of the first one. It's a shame that the Silver Surfer gets his intro here, but he might also save this flick. I'll go see it, but my expectations are low.

Don't read reviews, go see the movie and make up your own mind. I'm sure it will be a great action movie with Super Heroes and Super Villains reguardless of accuracy.

(And for the record, Toby Macguire is one lame ass actor, but once the CG crew at dreamworks puts him in costume, all the sudden its somehow...... beter!)

Also Why didn't Hobgoblin have his Original Look?

I totally agree with you but the whole point of the Preview is that you know what your going to watch.Pretty much saying what you should expect to see in the movie and why it should be good.I don't like reading reviews either it's other Opinion on it,not yours. As I said earlier people said that the movie is good and other said it's bad.

It's mainly how you look at the movie. The people who commented on it to be bad were probaly Comic readers just because the Missed out on alot of stuff. The goods were either people who just want to watch a movie, people who have seen 1 & 2 but never had the chance to read the Comics.

Yeah, they did the same thing for the recent X-Men. It's funny how we think brightly colored spandex looks cool in print, and in the game, but once you put real people on the big screen in bright yellow spandex, it goes way beyond "Campy". I saw some of the earlier attempts at comic cross overs to movies, and the costumes were the worst part. Even when accurate to the comic.

Oh gawd... I had forgot about the Captain America attempt till just now! Yeah, bad even for a B movie!

If anyone ever saw the first couple X-Men movie attempts it was even worse. Bright purples, pinks, oranges and padded shoulders and outfits.

RE: Spider-Man 3

I saw it over the weekend. It was pretty good. Not outstanding, but for me it was worth the price of admission. Now, Im not a comic junkie either, so I couldnt point out any inconsistancies with that. But I do have some friends that have tore into it pretty bad though. I just have the movies to reference off of. CGI on Venom was very very cool IMO.

RE: Spider-Man 3

I seen it this weekend too and of the 3 its not my favorite but I liked the movie none the less. And like stated before, how do you cram years of comics into a 2-3 hour movie. Its a tough task, but I felt they did the job. The only thing I wanted to see more of was action sequences. But when there were fight scenes, they were great.

I also felt they did a great job convening the sense of the symbiote corrupting Peter Parker's mind. It was at times over the top but you could see the darkness. As for hero/villain grouping...it wasnt as bas as Superman having a kid; talk about creative leeway. Overall you have to consider they are plotting out the future of Spidey....4,5, and 6. I like the movie but like I said earlier it wasnt my favorite. Venom was very cool (Topher played a great punk, cocky guy), Sandman looked awesome.....digitally and comic knockoff).

Pirates looks great, also looking forward to Transformers. 20-some odd years in the making for some of us....those who saw the cartoon movie once imagined live action movie. Now if they can just get to work on new He-Man, Thundercats, Capt American, and GI "frickin" Joe.

RE: Spider-Man 3

The Surfer was originally Norrin Radd, a young astronomer of the planet Zenn-La. He agreed to serve as herald to the god-like entity, Galactus, in order to save Zenn-La from the world devourer's insatiable hunger. Granted enormous powers (he wields the Power Cosmic), a silvery appearance and a surfboard-like vehicle — all of which were modeled after a childhood fantasy of Radd — the Silver Surfer roamed the cosmos, searching for new planets for Galactus to consume.

RE: Spider-Man 3

I think people may have got the wrong end of the stick from my post. My focus wasn't on the deviations from the comic books - I haven't read a comic book in my life and all I know about Marvel is taken from Marvel films and the old X-men cartoon on TV, so I wouldn't even know if it is deviating. The reason I tacked that on the end is because on top of the suckness of the rest of the film I realised it was made even worse for my friend because it was inaccurate. He spent the whole walk home telling how so. I myself don't have a problem with it for the afore-mentioned reasons and I said myself that I wouldn't have expected 100% accuracy but it was bad enough to make the film even worse for the friend.

Besides, I disagree with the statement that they shows Parker's dark side well - He turned mean, decided to do an impromptu pastiche of Saturday Night Fever (minus chest hair), wore a floppy fringe and eyeliner, discovered a liking for homemade cookies. Not that I was expecting subtlety or for Toby to pull it off that far into the film anyway...

RE: Spider-Man 3

Hey Thundar. did you ever see the Roger Corman Fantasic Four? From my memories it was "produced" (and I use the term loosely) in the very early 90's. It was soooo bad it made Dolph Lundgren's Punisher almost watchable. The film can only be found at comic-cons on vhs at my last sighting in a plain white cardboard sleeve (at least as far as I know) After watching it ONCE and only once I remarked "well there's 1&1/2 hours of my life I'll never get back". So as these new Marvel and DC movies go, it's still better than what we had.

I didnt see the movie, but if I remember correctly, the Hobgoblin is not Harry Osborne, but Roderick Kingsley.

The Green Goblin was actually many people, but Harry was the second coming of the Green Goblin.

Now, since I haven't seen the movie, they could have said he was the Hobgoblin in the movie, I dunno.

Both my sister and her BF absolutely hated it. I was surprised at how passionately they hated it, I haven't gone to see it myself yet, but I'm being told that it's not even worth the money.

I think just for the sake of being objective, though, I will go see it.

RE: Spider-Man 3

Personally, I really didn't care for it. I am not sure why other than the fact that I read the comics for a long time. I am learning to go to a superhero movie knowing it won't be like the comics.

I didn't really see the need for the Sandman in this film. and why would they change the whole story of Uncle Ben? It seems like they just put Sandman in because of the great graphics potential, he really didn't further the story with Venom or Green Goblin...

As far as Fantastic Four 2... since when can Silver Surfer phase through solid objects? Have I missed something?
