Hello all, I'm not too keen on enraging charge...can the build be used successfully in UW without it? If yes, what substitute skill can I use?

You can do it without a replacement running skill at all!
The thing is, it becomes a lot easier to run past the Aatxes once you have Enraging Charge.

yes, it is helpfull indeed. Why don't you like Enraging Charge? It's a pretty cool skill, sorta like sprint on crack lol

Sorry for the double post.
To answer on your actual question, Before I unlocked Enraging Charge, I used to put Defensive Stance in the last skill box (or whatever you call them).

I find there are only really a few skills you REALLY need:
VwK
Bonettis Defense
Dolyak Signet
With those three skills you can survive easily enough in UW and other areas, but of course in UW you need a run skill to ket past Aatxes at the start. Rush is a good suggestion from timi, adrenal skills are good at the start of UW because of the "Fear Me!" Grasps making energy skills more difficult to use.

I also only use one speed buff most of the time. A good substitute for either Sprint or Enraging Charge is Resilient Weapon. With Resilient Weapon, you can farm happily knowing that if you accidently aggro some Coldfires, it's not game-over, you can just hit Resilient Weapon and run, then you should be safe. I wouldn't recommend any other "blocking" stances other than Bonetti's, as the whole build relies upon the enemy hitting you successfully, if you "block" their attacks the build is rendered useless. Another option could be Riposte or Deadly Riposte, which can deal some nice extra damage.

hmmm okay thx for all the help guys. Ill try out sum of your ideas :)
btw, how do u use rush as a sub cos it requires adren...or would i wbuild up enuff from being hit to make it useable?

I seriously doubt you'd be able to use rush. Enraging charge and sprint are in there because they require energy, you can trigger them whenever. You could do the first part with just sprint without any problems. After that, you might have some problems with aatxes catching you before sprint recharges, but you might be able to make it to the smites alright, don't know, I've never tried with just sprint. At the smites, though, enraging charge is nice to have, because you build adrenaline really really slowly without attacking the smites, which you can't do because you are either holding ashes or they have SoJ up. So when you run low on energy from spamming Vengeful weapon and want to put up bonetti's, it's almost never recharged, so that's when I use enraging charge, to build up the adrenaline to use bonetti's. Or maybe at the beginning so it is charged when I need it. Either way, it's a helpful skill, and if you are able to get it, I'd recommend you do so. If you can't, you'll probably be alright without it.

doing it as a Rit/W using only sprint is 50/50 at best, having never tried it with a W/Rit, i dont know how long the sprint lasts, but I would guestimate it at about the same, if you are trying to avoid all the aataxes and get to the smites, 1 run skill is pretty tough

okay, u rekon that using None Shall Pass! would work? Just as a buy of a few seconds but i dunno about the energy cost. It takes 10 energy and has a recharge of 45...opinions?

ahhhh... good point, welll, you can try rush, and use it first, possibly even recharge on the dying nightmare that pops up in the middle at the tunnel

He didn't say Aatxe's he said Coldfires. Resilient Weapon also triggers off hexes, which the coldfires have plenty of :)

i have been looking at the w/rt solo uw build. i have a question. where do you cap VwK! I have looked everywhere that i can get to.. i just got past the boreas seabed and i have done the urn quest. where do i go from there?

you have a looong way to go yet, pick a side to work on, (Luxon or Kurzick) and follow the primary quests and missions,
on the Kurzick side it's available in Mourning Veil Falls, on the Luxon side, Rhea's Crater... both are pretty far into the game, morning veil is past Eternal Grove mission, the crater is past the hatchery mission

I use a w/rt build all the time and u really do only need sprint. Usually i bring rush so after i finish off last grasp group its recharged and ready to go right away but if you don't want to use just use sprint to make it part way than stop just before the door that opened to get to smites. It's pretty much safe of any agro so you can let sprint recharge. Than just run into agro of the aaxtes that are still in way and just before they get to you hit sprint and your home free. If you'd like I'd be happy to dust off my warrior and show you. IGN is Big Beating. Hope that helps.

If you plan on going into the UW with two people, I wouldn't recommend it. I've tried it a couple of times to show a guildie of mine, but the aggro of the Graspings somehow always fails. And should you kill the Graspings, you'll have a hell of a job getting past those Aatxes with two people.(Or at least that's my experience)

I have been using this build for ages, and I have always used only sprint. You can easily get by Aatxes, and with Sig of Stamina, I only die if I aggro more than 5 coldfires or more than 9 smites.
