Not sure if someone posted this already but here you go:
If I can get GuildWars to run on Linux [not using Wine] then I would be one more step closer to being rid of Microsoft.

Uh..one of my friend's got guildwars to work on linux easily enough some time ago. I'll ask him how he did it, could well have changed something since then..

To be honest, do you really think this will bring you any closer to "closing down" Microsoft? Get businesses to start using Linux and maybe you'll get somewhere, but this? This is just rediculous favoritism sparked by what is likely, disgruntled Microsoft Employee's :P

i think he ment to go all out linux so he won't need a microsoft OS on his PC any more.
Microsoft is going nowhere. them closing down is near imposible now. :P

Nobody said that was the purpose of this petition.
Honestly, I too would like to see GW available on Linux and OS X as well, because then my cousin could play with me as his dad adamantly refuses to have a PC. Plus, I plan to get a PS3 eventually and I'll want to play GW on there because you can run Linux on it. I might be a little misguided but from what I understand, this would be possible given GW eventually supports Linux (although I'm not sure because of the processor difference (?)). I currently play on my only computer--a two year-old, business grade laptop--making GW run pretty slow.

I won't sign either. One of the endearing things the makers of NWN did was that they made a linux client. I played NWN on a 100% Linux machine.
I have PC's running both Linux AND MS OS'es. I don't see one as better than the other-what I see...
Linux still has some growing up to do. No ease of use whatsoever. I don't want to waste my valuable time hunting down dependencies on something that should be included/available already etc, etc. And doing this all on a command line. (O).(O)
Windows has ease of use, and so easy to administer. No dependencies to resolve. Most of my issues are bad dll calls or incomplete/inadequate driver support for older equipment.
I won't even go into latest hardware support.
I came from the days before DOS. Back then it was called CPM. I typed all my instructions in manually. With today's GUI, I refuse to go back. :p
I am not biased towards one or the other. The IT work I do invloves 45 machines and 5 servers. 30 are on XP, 15 are on Fedora, the servers are split between Windows and CentOS (2/3.)
Ease of use, main stream OS = Windows
Tweakers, servers (purely on $$) = Linux
Agree or disagree, tis my experience and opinion.

Without Microsoft, no one would be doing much with computers the way they do today. To hold a grudge against them for any reason, aside from you being an ex-employee who was laid off, is ridiculous. Besides, its not THEIR fault so many of us buy their products...
I refuse to sign.
I am a happy XP user.

Why don't you get your cousin to install BootCamp then Windows XP on an intel mac then (You said your cousin dosen't have pc but i'm assuming instead has a mac)

His dad doesn't want it on his Mac for some reason. Honestly, I don't talk to him about it anymore because he makes up a bunch of BS against Windows. Thanks for the advice though :)
What happened to this thread? Ok, so the original poster himself doesn't want to have to deal with Microsoft products anymore, but he's just one person. He did not state anywhere that he wanted to get rid of Microsoft for good, whether or not that's their intention.
Imagine, if you will, that you have an XBox360 but you want to switch to a PS3, for whatever reason. However, there are just certain games on the 360 that you can't play on PS3 (such as the Halo games, although that's something we know wouldn't launch for PS3, it's just an example). For this example just imagine that the console companies would only lose as much money per user as the Operating System companies (which in some ways compare like apples and oranges anyway).

Hey I put this out there for one reson: exposure...I dont want M$ to go out of business...I am in business because M$ is in business. I want to try something different and GW is one of the last things holding me in WinXP...
