Guild Question

I started recruting for the guild I made today, but its so hard to get members, and even when you do get some they might leave. Was it this hard when amp started?

RE: Guild Question

i am not in amp but i would say as a whole, since guild halls are so cheap now a days there are more people out there who have a full guild and not just a cape. having a guild hall used to turn people onto a guild when the sigils used to be worth 80k. now basically anyone can afford one making having a guild hall not that special. my best advice to you is start it with some in game friends and build from there. do runs in missions and such with people who dont have guilds and if they comment that they like you guys, ask them if they would like to join.

Starting a Guild is difficult, takes a lot of time and in some cases many months. Can not speak for AMP .. might have been a little easier because of their strong ties to this website.

Wish you the best!

RE: Guild Question

AMP had it easy, we just posted a thread and people were like "Ooo look a gameamp guild!" and then they pushed our buttons and said "invite me".

RE: Guild Question

I know AMP had it easy..lol. I know when I joined AMP, it was cause of this magnifacent site and the ppl i know that were in it.

I think for normal guilds though, it may be different. To recruit higher level, more experienced players though, It seems you have to have something in your guild that will stand out. Whether it is winning HoH a bunch of times, being ranked, or whatnot, it seems to lure in the more experienced players. To get members though, it seems to be easy to do what has already been said. Just help ppl with missions and whatnot. Alot of the lower lvl missions have new ppl that don't have a guild yet. With your help, they can become an experienced player and a good guildy.

RE: Guild Question

A long long time ago when Lani sat on the throne and the minions Silly Ranger, Neoelastic Man, Balthamos, Lord VoxBlackriver and many other dedicated staffers ran round cleaning up and helping the site a discussion took place in the staff forums. Whereas for three weeks (or something like that) we debated the structure, ethics, and more importantly the name of the new gameamp guild.

Only two things were certain, one, the tag would be [AMP], and two, the staff would be alowed to join. One evening while the moon was high in the sky, Lani got bored of all the waiting and spawned a guild that is known today as "Gameamp Guides [AMP]" and thus the gamemap guild was born. Not one day after formation someone mentioned it in the top guilds forum and thus loyal AMPers flocked to the gameamp banner to join what is now the established group of gameAMPers whose time on the forums doesn't settle their need for AMPyness.

Yeah. Gameamp had a huge advantage and an easy start. For a long time we were flooded with people wanting to join and at 100 members.

I find other guilds have trouble, recruiting posts on AMP and Guru can help though. Or spawning your guild with friends as core members.

Edgwalkers is coming.

RE: Guild Question

I think for a good guild, that is appealing for others, you gotta have a few factors that are very helpful:

1) you gotta know the game, know what you are doing
2) you gotta have fun, make people have a good time
3) focus on one thing (whether it's HA-GvG-High en area's-farming, lockpicking..)
4) it helps a lot if 'people know you' be active in a good way on forums

but trust me.. soon it will be easier maybe to start of a guild..
*secret grin*
