Yea, you just lost it, sorry to say that. I highly suggest, if you plan to write a lengthy thread, guide, article, news, tip, please do so in a word editor and save it. :)

I'm an sorry to say, but yea, it is lost. After a period of time on the same page, sepcially a page that you input information in, the server will reset the connection, cookies, or whatever it is you wanna call it.

Yeah, I know how it feels to create a work of art then lose it. It's happened with me in Photoshop many a times.

I'd make something really beautiful and cool, then Photoshop stops responding and I lose it. Can't make it as good as it was again.

Ouch, losing something you spend a lot of time on really isnt fun. Well you've had suggestions to avoid it in the future, but I just wanted to post some encouragement.

Consider your first attempt a draft, someting to commit thoughts to words. The second time through should be easier and well you will probably end up with a better result.

So if its a story you really want to share and something you enjoy doing, dont let this hiccup deter you.

Regards,
Sty

RE: what happens after you submit an article?

When you submit an article:

It first goes to a land where pink horses view everything to make sure it's appropriate for viewing of little squirrels and small children.

After that it's taken to a molasses plant where giant trees pour their guts out in hard work to make the paper for the work of art to be printed on.

It's then taken to the fields of Egypt where they grind up sand and camel humps to make ink. Then it, along with materials to make 3 copies (ink and paper) are shipped off to Rome.

In Rome, 17 scholars work on it day and night until it's fully copied a total of 3 times. They then place the original in a glass case in a dark temperature controlled room. The three copies are shipped off, one to NoGame, one to Evil Geek. The final copy is sent to Travis who reviews it one more time before transposing it and putting it in his CD drive to be uploaded to the internet.

Finally, the powers that be of gameamp hit it with flyswatters as it travels by, knocking each piece of data into it's corresponding place of the article template they have set up. One the article is smacked into place, the flyswatters are incinerated to keep the article from getting any ideas of escaping.

Then the article gets touched by a drop of nitroglycerin and realizes that the time has come. It now displays itself on the front page for all to see.

And THAT is what goes on behind the scenes of article publishing.

Just wanted to say Rogue.......you have just won me a bet I made long ago. I just KNEW this was what happened!!!!! Just wasn't sure if it could be let out to us commoners or not, so I never asked. Had a feeling if I waited long enough, some rumor or memo would get through. Thanks and if you want half of my winnings, just ask. Half a stick is still a whole stick. :)

Moral of the story is write your things in an outside program saving often. NEVER write anything aside from posts or replies to articles/guides/screenshots in the gameamp box.
