| Dunes of Despair bonus mission |

I am trying to find out any tactics or a link to a walk through on the bonus mission. Any help would be appreciated.
(Assenion mission where you kill ghost and your hero ghost has to be protected whilst he summons, at same time running to 3 outskirting forts to kill there boss guys).

What works well is bonding the ghost.
Another possibity as bringing in 2 monks; 1 will stay behind to heal the hero (standing on top near the entrance to the main fort and avoiding aggro) while the rest of the team kills the bosses. Mind; with these tactics you can only leave after the initial boss that comes into the main fort! if you go straight ahead the mission will fail. If all goes well you have 3 mins to finish of the bosses.

Necrotic traversal......when you've killed everything inside the fort EXCEPT the enemy ghost, run to the back of the fort and try to aggro a scarab popup or the boss using a longbow. If you can reach them, and kill them, use necrotic traversal to jump to the corpse. Then run around a bit to trigger some more scarabs, kill them, and let your other party members nec trav out of the fort. You are then free to kill the other two bosses without having to worry about time, or your ghostly hero being killed by worm seige.
[edit] it means all party members will have to be Ne/* or */Ne but it's a small inconvenience.

There is also a trick wich most people use to get the bonus.
The timer starts when u put your hero on the altar after killing hte enemy hero, by doing this u open the gate.
There is however a way of getting passed the gates without opening them. if u leave our hero near the gate where we enter the fort and the rest goes of down south u can see 1 boss, with an avrage spawn u can hit him with a longbow and he comes close to attack. when u kill him u can use 2 skillz to get to his corpse, Necrotic Traversel and Consume Corpse, this can be done by a N/* or a */N, tho it is smartest to use a N/Mo or Mo/N and the rest takes either 1 of those skillz or takes a vampiric weapon (te be able to kill them selves, so The N/Mo or Mo/N can use rebirth on them), Now when your with 5 people on the other side the bosses arnt that hard and u have all the time in the world. however there must remain 1 person in the fort to later on place the hero on the altar so u can do mission, You can kill the enemy ghost to make that easyer so u only have to take the ghost to the altar.

Not every one needs to be a Necro. Everyone takes vampiric weapons, and 1 person is a N/Mo. Necrotic traversal then when they get to the other side use rebirth on the party who is now dead from life drain.
Oh, and whoever has the Ghost. Sit outside the doors to the summoning area so he doesn't try to kill the enemy ghost.
Once the bonus is done the Ghost babysitter kills the enemy ghost, and the doors open.
That's how I've got the Bonus before.
They might have changed something since then.

all the ghost sitter (the person who spoke to the ghost first at the mission beginning) has to do is talk to the ghost outside the on the bridge, the ghost will reply that he will stay there (unless that has changed) at which time everyone, can go do the necrotic traversal/suicide trick
the straight up method, leave a monk and a damage dealer or 2 (Monk and a MM works good) with the ghostly hero after he claims the alter and you kill the first few incoming critters, then run to the back, kill the scarabs and the bosses in the back fort.

Cool, that makes it even easier.
But doesn't somone still have to stay behind to kill the enemy ghost so the doors will open? Unless you're just going for bonus and not the mission.

if you do it straight up, without necrotic traversal, you must kill the enemy ghost, and allow your ghost to relaim the altar, then stick around for a couple minutes to kill the early advancing enemies, then run off leaving some gurds to defend the alter, the bridge will drop when your ghost reclaims the alter

Yeah, but I'm talking about with Necrotic Traversal. If someone doesn't stay behind to kill the enemy ghost so that the alter can be claimed, then you can only get bonus and not mission too.
I like the traversal method. Failed too many times trying to get bonus and mission before finding that.

This is what worked for me.
1 Warrrior 3 Monks-Prot-Smite-Healer 1 Necromancer-Minion Master 1 Ranger
Leave one Monk near the alter on left side to keep alive the ghost. Kill all near attackers left, center then right. Then kill the left side worm, come back and and kill the second wave center and right side and the first worm that pops up on the right side. Do not mess with the second right side worm, if it pops, or the worm that pops up in the center. At this point you should have about 4min 30 seconds left on clock. No need to leave anyone back to heal the ghost all attackers are dead minus the last group that attacks at 9 min 30 seconds and they will not kill the ghost before your time runs out. Move straight across the draw bridge to the fort with the 3 bonus bosses. Try and get as many as possible by the first boss and 2 henchmen out of the worm blast area. This usually leaves some hanging out in the blast area and draws some scarabs. Kill the two guards and the first boss and enough scarabs to clear the path to get out of worm range and focus the attack on right side boss and guards. Once boss 2 is dead you should have 1 min 30-45 seconds. Plenty of time for boss 3 and guards. Finish of the last boss about midway through that you will see the ghost health bar going down. Don't panic, don't break anyone off, kill the third boss and guards you will have a second or two remaining. Panic for those last two seconds while the ghosts health bar goes down to near zero, watch the cut scene and do the victory dance. Yes I know it took me about 5 tries to get the luck of the draw on the scarabs. Good luck and "have fun stormin the castle".
