Unwelcome to all. I have been playing COV for 14 monthes. Since I9 came out other players have been asking me to bridge them. I know it is like PLing, and my only responce is NO. I have soloed my toon (with an expection of a few EB's or SF's)
My question is how does Bridging differ from PLing, or is it just a new name?

First let me say un-welcome to CoV Gameamp(thats our welcoming wagon we are villains remember) to answer your question:
Bridging is a form of PL the reason for a bridge is to help PL someone else. How this works is say the person who is PL someone is level 50 and the person needing the PL is like an level 1 if the 50 just lackeys the level 1 than the level 1 will not get more xp than he would on his own this is where the bridge comes in. The bridge would be someone in this case around level 45/46 this would be the optimal level to gain the most xp because the baddies would be purple to the level 1 lackeyed to the 45. So basically the bridge is just there to lackey the level 1 to gain them faster xp.
Here at Gameamp we frown apon PLing. I personally believe getting PL is detremental to your character because you level without playing your toon you dont learn how your powers work or your own strategies of playing. It also makes you a poor teamate. I am glad to hear that you turn down the requests that you get for the bridging.

I DO NOT WANT TO BE POWER LEVELED ! !
I will power level friends and VG mates, I don’t PL strangers at all. I have been asked to bridge from stranger so I haven’t done it. I don’t like to PL new players but I will. I feel it’s there game, there money and if they want to waste it on just getting a level 50 that’s on them. I have been playing for over a year and don’t have any level 50’s. I enjoy CoV a lot and want to take my time and play, chat and just hang out. I understand how some feel about just getting to level 50. Some have been playing for years and have a few level 50’s. They just want the XP when they make a new villain, they don’t care about the story lines. That’s why I think there need to be a Double XP Vet Reward so the players can level faster.

Well, I agree with the above statements about PLing.
I just detest random requests asking me to put my life on hold to help bridge someone I don't know and probably won't ever see again.
I was playing just yesterday and got this guy just bugging me to come and bridge one of his friends. Even after I advised that 'i'll be AFK quite a bit (i like to play and do my laundry on Sundays...helps pass the time) and that I was in the Efficeincy Experts Arc and didn't want to break because I get hit with heavy lag at times and wanted to get it done before the lag really set in. He just kept persisting...'well, all you have to do is put yourself on follow and just Hide *i was playing my Stalker*...' 'well, i'll help you with your timed missions after we finish this session'...and things of that nature.
It's just downright annoying. I don't mind if you ask me and wait for a reply prior to just sending an invite, but they need to understand that No means NO.
Too many 3-6 month players running around with level 50s and just can't play the game, and that's a reason why I just tend to go solo alot...can't trust PUG teams because of nOObish behaviors and at the times i play, i'm either not on long enough to team or i'm multitasking and can't dedicate the time to a team (gosh, I miss SFs and Respec Trials).
Bridging/PLing, not good for new players. Older players that have experienced all the game content and rolling alts, I don't have a problem with that. I just feel new players to the game need to experience the game in it's entirity before thinking about PLing.

Here's my take on it:
I have 3 lvl 50s (heroside). Ive done all the hero content at least once, most of it twice, and alot of it more times than I can count. When I roll a new character, its usually for some distinguished purpose. Building for that purpose can make leveling a character difficult, especially since I often have to solo. I have a couple of ppl I know that can and will PL me, and I can and will PL them. These are all friends of mine. Do I PL strangers? No. Do I PL ppl who are new to the game? No.
As far as the Vet rewards determining experience, that is often an accurate show of experience, but not always. I had my first 50 (Warron) in less than 4 months of playing time. He was never PLed. On occasion he SKed higher than normal and had some good xp situations, but it was never being bridged or anything like that. By the time he hit 50, I was already somewhat established on CoH GA as a good person to ask for build advice. By the time I hit 6 months, I was well on my way to my second 50. I don't say this to brag, but to explain that just because their vet rewards don't say they have been playing a long time, doesn't mean they haven't learned an aweful lot in the short time they have been playing.
One other thing. I have a second account. It is about 5 months old. But I've been playing over a year. Don't assume by Vet Badges that a player is new, just because the account is.

Whats up Lilth. Being a MM I get asked to bridge people a lot. Sometimes I will, all depends on my mood. I honestly don't give a crap if people get PLed. Doesn't effect me at all. I could have told ya what it was if you would have asked hehe
