Are you getting a little tired of these weekend events? Sure they are nice, but I think ANet needs to focus their attention elsewhere -cough hairdresser,auction house etc cough- :D They are just a little annoying every single weekend, and having to deal with the lag the events bring, maybe if ANet spaced them out like every other weekend or something like that I'd be fine with it. D:<

I am getting a bit tired of the weekend events, even tho they help sum people with tiles and stuff i'd much rather see the return of doyble key drop weekends and such, i myself wish there would be a double gem drop in the DoA, that would be awesome :D

I am not getting tired of them at all, I just wish they would extend the weekend longer or had something going on 7 days a week, imo.

I'm getting bored of those ''special'' week-ends too. When they started all people were happy. They were heppening not so often and when they came, everyone was happy. Now it's each week and they are always similar :/
I really enjoyed some of them (double green drop and keys FTW!)

Didn't you just totally contradict yourself? :P You're tired of weekend events, yet you want a double gem drop weekend? :S
Anyways, IMO the weekend events are awesome. They add variety, and get more people interested in different aspects of the game. For example, I'd like to bet that some members ventured to HA for the 1st time, during the Double Fame Weekend.

I luv them, always can't wait to see what the next one is. Think it gets people to try new things also. I mean i never really PvP'd much unitl the double faction events. I figured wth i need to unlock skill for my heroes. Found it a lot of fun, though frustrating as getting a team w/o rank is damn near impossible. If i don't like a weekend I just dont participate, doesn't really have a negative effect on the game.

personally, if we had one of those favor weekends again, and the drop rate of ectos was 4x, I would LOVE a-net, but, we all know it wont happen.. so meh..

I like them, i mean, most of us still know double Lightbringer weekend no? Have you seen how many people bunched up together for mass Lightbringer farms? Really worked great.
As for the double PvP faction, got me into the arena's for a while too ;)
I'd say they aint really boring, they get people to try out new staff, give them a push in the back to definately just give it a shot.
As for lag caused by events... well, that's too bad. Welcome to the internets ^^

I cant play right now, and some of the events don't affect me at all.
Anyway, I really dont think the events take much time to do.....all you would need is a variable...say, for this weekend....lockpickLuckModifier which has a default value of one....all they would do is take a minute(at the most) and change that 1 to a 2 and there you have it.....double point towards luck/unlucky titles. Now, I'm not saying how they do it, but if they planned it during the original coding of what the event pertains to, all you would need to do is change a number.
Therefore I don't think they really could spend the time it takes for an event to put to good use, if you don't spend much time at all on something, its hard to put that little bit of time towards something more useful.

I rarely pay attention, and definitely dont alter my game play to take advantage of a weekend event. If i get extra LB points for something i am normally doing, fine, if not, *shrug*

I think that they should extented the weekend events as if your like me where you work all Saturday and then have a sport the next day there no realy much time to have ago at anything.

Well doing stupid crap ended up making nightfall(in my oppinion) a half assed game. So if they focus all the way on this one the game should be good.

meh I never bother with weekend events anyways. Most of them simply never affect me like the double lb and sp points, because I find nightfull boring so i never do it. ever.
The only ones I ever really got into were the free elite mish access ones and the favor one. If they did something that would probably make me get involved as it would finally give me a reason to find the last 10-15% i need for the 3 continents.

I've never paid any attention to those events. They seem to adress the young and bored players. Personally I couldn't care less.
But yes, Anet really should make an auction house allready. The lack of it is beginning to be ridicuolus, tbh. It's the single most shitty thing about this otherwise cool game. Actually, the lack of it (along with the nonexistent crafting system) is the main reason I often hesitate to play GW at all, and when I do quit it will be because of that, not because of no chapter 4 or no new weekend events or whatever.

theres 2 ways to handle these event imho;
- you like them and participate in them
- you dont like them; and just keep doing your regular thing in GW :)
i think those 2 lines answer all concerns regarding events :)

well its fenetly not me renember its not only like 5 people working on guildwars(i heard auction houses might be an update in eye of the north) they dont stop working on gui8ld wars just to do events they work on other stuff like bugs and updates and testing stuff.

they ll add Auction house in EN.Dont know for hairdresser.They work on new updates bugs new stuff.U see they listen to the players HM more storage space and other cool things new minipets.Dont swear them if u dont like the events just dont use it.

I'm pretty sure Gaile has said that we won't see an auction house in GW1, but almost certainly in GW2, and hairdressers are just dumb in my opinion, don't know why everyone wants them so bad.
As far as these weekend events go, I like some of them, and I don't participate in others. I find it funny (though incredibly hypocritical) that so many people say they are bored with them and then immediately follow by saying they should do more of whatever weekend event they liked best. Don't be so selfish, obviously not everyone enjoyed the double key drop weekend, or the free UW weekend, or the double faction weekend. Different people like different things, and this would be a much worse game if Anet just focused on one group of people.

These events are not mandatory. Don't like them.. DON'T JOIN IN THE EVENT. There are several events I don't join in "the pvp ones" I do not like pvp so I will not join in but does not mean I'm going to moan and rant because there was a pvp event.

I find that the weekend events aren't always especially useful to me. However, I always appreciate feeling like Anet is "looking out." For the fact that they continue to make an effort to allow a constant and increasing return on my initial monetary investment, without a mandated continued monetary investment, I will remain a loyal customer. I just can't find myself bagging on them for making an effort to cater to us in new ways. However, the "new" can become mundane when done and redone without remodel (i.e. holiday events).

The weekend themselves are too short and also (just my opinion) they generally aren't anything too useful to ALL players, normally just a specific type of player or someone who does just hero battles ect.
Lets see Dragon Area back and maybe double alliance faction week?
