| Class Forums have gone Kaput! |
|
|
|
It has Come to MY attention (simply by looking at the three measly posts), that NO ONE has used these class forums since december of '04!(at least the Hunter's forum)
I think that we should use these forums more often, and spread our post into their respective categories. Instead of simply dumping them in the General Chat chain.
I think if someone went through the trouble to make these forums, we should at least try to use them.
I dont mean to make anyone mad, im just a player who gets kind of confused when i see all these posts in Gen chat that could be found easier in their respective categories.
Hope all you put this into consideration.
Axilius the Hunter
P.S. Check out my post in the warrior section please.

The community makes or breaks the forums. If you want more people to be active here, then get them interested in the site. New bodies are always welcome at GameAmp.
There is nothing to fear but a Marine and his rifle. Also, level 60 elites. Those can be painful...

I found this site by looking for the maps for the instances. Since this discovery i took the liberty to tell everyone on my friends list about the site and I also put it on the GMotD for a week! ';p

I went looking for Hunter-specific quests a couple of months ago and came up pretty much empty. Granted, I didn't look TOO hard, but I didn't find anything specific to our class. I did find some quests that lead to nice rewards for us, though. Just keep grinding the quests in each zone, for now. I hear tell there are new epic quests for Hunters after 50, now. I know this hasn't been much help. Give me a few days to get back up to speed. :-)

Hi Rigor, welcome to the site!
The gameamp sites are great source for information for WoW and many other games. Its great to see you have a big interest in the site and going to promote us to others.

Unfortunately the answer to this is no. There are plenty of quests that result in quest rewards that greatly benefit the hunter such as [43] Big Game Hunter which nets you your choice of Master Hunter's Bow or Master Hunters Rifle these are not class specific quests. Anyone who cares to do them can and either use or sell the gun/bow.
The only class specific quest that the hunter currently gets is the Tame Animal ability at 10. Complaints about this have been a bit of a re-occurring theme among hunters as they are not as rich in class specific quests as say Druid, Mage, Warrior etc.
I am not sure how Blizzard could implement the quests to make hunters any happier though. Quests to take different kinds of beasts coming on the 10's? That might limit what they could actually train at 10 or 20? Having to start with Bow and waiting to train Gun after a quest at 20 probably wouldn't make them much happier either. What if they had to complete a quest to use traps? After all Druid can't cure poison until they have completed a quest. Hunters do get a lot of abilities "handed to them" which I am sure could be broken out into quests if Blizzard really though having to quest for it would make the class more enriching.
It may be one of those situations where people may want to "be careful what you wish for...). For example while the Druid Bear form quest is fun and not overly challenging the Water form quest is a time consuming nuisance for its limited usefulness.
There are so many quests to do in this game that its hard to imagine class specific quests (or a lack of them) really being a breaking point for anyones enjoyment of a character type in WoW.

I don't disagree with you here. It is common occurrence in any forum format that has a General section to find posts that are misposted or cross posted. The solutions are a bit more difficult though.....
We could eliminate the General Forum forcing people to have to find a more specific forum in which to post. That might solve the problem as far as say getting class specific posts into class forums, but it leaves us without a place to post messages that don't relate to any of our current forums. This means we would have to constantly add new forum threads to cover any requests we get for messages that don't relate to a specific heading we already have.
The other approach we could take would be the militant approach I have seen in some forums where posts are edited, moved, eliminated etc. and the users reprimanded for posting in wrong areas etc. While I can't argue that this method isn't effective in keeping posts where they belong, I think the method is better suited for say a tech forum where keeping information on topic makes for better troubleshooting information.
These forums are really about gaming and having fun and yes sometimes the forums get a little sloppy and off topic, but I would prefer that to loosing our focus on them really being about being fun and enjoying the game.
