Magtheridon - Not a guide... more of, hmm, observation.

FYI - Skblat = Recneps

First and foremost, awesome job last night on mag, we got all the channelers down on 1 attempt I believe, and are very close to downing this son of beech. I have a few suggestions from watching a movie by 'Last Resort'

Download - 450MB Zipped AVI - **RECOMMENDED**

Streaming Video

1 - Tanking 2 channelers on station 1 is a good idea.

2 - I believe we used Skull,X,Square,Condom,Star (for the channelers)... Make that (1) skull, (2) x, (3) square, (4) condom, (5) star - We should make macros that look like the following (or similar) for THREE teams.

/RW Team 1 get ready!
/RW (1) Breasha
/RW (2) Neggie
/RW (3) Rhinhanel
/RW (4) Recneps
/RW (5) Malfuruman

**Magtheridon begins his blast wave**

/RW CLICK CLICK CLICK

Each player in each team should have a backup. If they go down, it is well known that the backup needs to take it. (The cube - click, click, clicky thing)

As soon as the channeled spell is over, a new macro is used.
/RW Team 2 get ready!
/RW (1) Frostclaw
/RW (2) Lastat
/RW (3) Izzsomethingorother
/RW (4) Merlina
/RW (5) Slingy

Rinse repeat for team 3. FIVE (5) members of the raid may need to "double" backup, which shouldn't be a problem at all, because if done correctly, and no deaths occur, the channeling can be handled exactly as outlined. So, all in all, the "in progress" raid warnings will make damn sure we're not getting a blastwave from Mag.

**Clickers also need to stand with their backs to the wall at all times to avoid getting their ass constantly punted away from the cube they're assigned to.

The one thing I have noticed about proper takedowns of Magtheridon are that 1- They play hard, but don't necessarily rush. 2- People need to be more aware of their surroundings. Deaths occur a lot of the time because of fire on the ground, or being too close to Mag's cleave. 3- Rhin and Neggie's idea of pulling the channelers closer is sweet. It seems to be the most effective strat I have read/watched so far.

It's not a complete DPS/HEALHEALHEAL race, you can have many, many, many blast waves as long as you get the rotation down.

Breasha loves me.

That is all.... see ya tonight.

the only issue i could see is that if a knockback series occurs while we need to click a cube (we being melee dps) we might be in a terrible position to click cubes. its much more safe to put ranged dps on cube clicking duty just because they can dps right next to the cubes with their backs against the wall. it is probably a safer bet to put rogues on back-up team 3 if somebody dies or is unable to fulfill their cube role for a rotation for whatever reason.

other than that i think having a raid warning macro is a superb idea and would put us all on the same page. nice input spence.

The raid warning characters were made up. We wouldn't put a rogue on them, unless we had to, and all the others had mind exhaustion. I just know that it's not about the dps/healing when it comes down to clicking the cubes at the 'same exact time' and all 5 being channeled.

i think the idea of a raid warning is a good one at least until we are comfortable with our teams and the members of those teams are familiar with their roles and with the timing of the fight.
