important question about gwars 2

in guild wars 2 i heard that u will have to start new charrs will people realy want to start from scratchor just stick withere own charrs for guild wars 1.what ui realy want to know is witch one will u guys pick.so will u start from scratch in gwars 2 or will u extend on guildwars 1?

Both, I wouldnt just leave GW, and theres gonna be so much more stuff on GW2. I dont really mind starting again, I like the noob feeling.

If i'm right there will be a Hall of Memories too in GW2? or was that in GW:EN?

It starts i gwen, but you can access it in gw2. The main reason it's going to be in gwen is because of gw2.

Ah, I c.
But is it possible then with the Hall of Memories in both(if I understand you right) GW2 and GW:EN to "send" your archievements from GW1 characters to GW2 characters?

yes you can send your achievments but no items or characters..

I think im stay playing GW 1 and im not sure if ill buy GW2

Before I buy GW2.. or GWEN, I will finish all 3 campaigns, and at least go through one game in HM. So depending on if I can do that will depend when I will buy it. Oh and I will start over on a new character, been a long time since I have been on an account less than 10 (looks at brothers accounts and laugh).

The Hall of Monuments will be for sending things like titles/minipets or rare skins. Not practical things, just appearence/prestige things.

I'll gladly start from scratch in GW2 and i'll buy and play GW:EN before it comes out, I wanna know the entire storyline. And after such a long period I like a fresh start. It's getting a bit 'been there, done that, got the tshirt' you know ?

But I am going to concetrate on playing with my Ele, gonna try to finish the entire game with all the chars this summer, but I have a life too so I'm really going to docus on 1 char's achievement to transfer to GW2.

I'm hoping that we'll get to see some of the same places, only different. Like pre-sear ascalon again. I really love the landscape there, and after that amount of time has passed maybe it'll look like that again.

I have no idea yet if I'm gonna buy the game or not. I hope they give GW players a chance to try out GW2.

Well, if anet keeps up their tradition of open beta, then we'll proably be able to, at elast I hope they will let us.

GW:EN is only roughly 5 years in the future. So Gwen is grown up about 8 years from when we saw her in pre. She will not be in GW2.

U do NOT transfer anything Here is the wiki text

The Hall of Monuments will be a feature of Guild Wars Eye of the North, as well as Guild Wars 2 and will be used to help tie the games together. Certain achievements will add monuments, and each monument will unlock something, such as an exclusive item or title, for a character on a linked Guild Wars 2 account.

Confirmed Guild Wars 2 unlocks:

Titles
Companions (Heroes and pets)
Weapons
Attire
Miniatures

so only unlocking :P

I wouldn't mind starting from scratch, after all, we are forgetting that Guild Wars 2 is NOT this Guild Wars, most likely it will be different, not radically different like switching from GW's to World Of Warcraft, but probably not just like ''ahhh familiar''

So i think its kinda handy starting from scratch, you will probably end up in a different game for your feeling rather then starting GW's ''old'' with GW:2

Just my opinion, but i dont see the hussle about the ''aw man, gotta restart again'' I think its fun, after all, i doubt many people would fully understand their profession at first when you start out lvl 20 at the last level no? ;)

Im not entirely looking forward to starting again but if i get lucky and play my cards right with everyone starting again i could be one of the best in the game :P (PS Will it be another global launch like other gws)

Ok, i haven't read all the info on GW 2, but i think it's going to be somewhat similar to the original GW.
Like once in a while the words "pre-searing" will be mentioned, but has nothing to do with it or Nightfall/Factions.
Kind of like a couple years later, after all this happened, its located in a different place, but everything that was supposed to happen in GW happened. I don't know if that makes sense or what, but thats what I think.

Um.. actually it will be like switching from gw to wow. GW2 is going to be a persistant world, i.e. how wow is set up. Plus I believe their will be some other changes, but idk them/don't remember them.

I think the fact that wont let us keep most of out stuff is good for my own reasons hopefully it will bring all my friends back that have been game hopping(a new game every month/week is pissing me off) they like new stuff they havent tryed they've mostly quit GW =(. but im still playing it and am forced to rebuild my friends list from 90% allways offline to something funer. i cant wait to get GW2 hopefully it will entertain me enough for the first month ill never play another game and nethier will my friends(gahh they spent money on GW why let it go to waste yay for GW...i need factions o well) yay for startng over! i want a preorder collectors edition of GW2 lol *saves up his pennys* NMF im not rich!

the only thing i am going to hate/love is having to restart my pvp titles/factin because i play like a r6-9 but am only r4 atm i play so well because my first guild was a r9-10+alliance but i will also hate it becuase you cant tell the expirience of epople anymore you will have people who were like r2 saying they were r9s and the r13s who i have met ( a net spy bear dis ect.) will be verry unhappy so i hope it will not be a compleate whipe of the pvp function also

Guild Wars 2 is a new game, of course you start from scratch.
It would suck bringing over your awesome characters to have an edge on everything in a completely new game!
What if they changed warriors so you can dual-wield or they changed strength? What would happen if you sent your war from the two campaigns over to each other?
