Balthazar a Norn?

Do you see an odd resmeblance to the Norn's helm
-( http://guildwars.gameamp.com/forum/showTopic/59831.php ) Scroll down to see the Norn pic.
And Balthazar's helm?

Maybe an exiled Norn?
He seams smaller than the Norn in the picture, but when a Dervish is in Avatar of Balthazar form he is significanlty larger than humans.

Sorry for the lack of pictures directly on thread, I'm not very good with computers so I could only get links

Well there has been a lack of new, interesting threads...most of the threads are guilds recruting, or people asking for builds...just trying to get something out there and get peoples hopes up for GW:EN and GW2....thnx for the positive attitude tho!

And yes, i relize now it should be the other way around since Balthazar is a god, while the Norn must worship him...or w/e

RE: Balthazar a Norn?

Well since in some article they said the Norn value Strength a lot I think their helmets are made like that to resemble the helmet of Balhazar, their favorite deity more as a means of worshop to Balhazar or a symbol of power.

RE: Balthazar a Norn?

Most likely what has been said before its like that, Norns look like their god of war, not the other way around.

Unless, as the story goes with the gods creating Tyria, and the rest of the world, Norn's could be a race like Balthazar wanted? So their his likeness? No idea.

Sounds logical to me. Even though I thought that the cetaur were the race to his likeness...

RE: Balthazar a Norn?

What if balthazar came to birth later like

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER
Kormir did, she changed into the goddess of truth.
Maybe a long time ago, a Norn battle lord changed into Balthazar?

END SPOILER

My idea :)

RE: Balthazar a Norn?

Although Knigt may be on a good path, I'm following the rest.

Balthazar - Norn
Melandru - Druids
Lyssa - Asura(?)
Dwayna - ???
Grenth - ???
Abaddon - Margonites (or at least the mutated ones)

Edit: Could it be possible that the Gods have indeed died, like in the Mythology of the North, or maybe they're walking among ous like in Greek Mythology coming in different forms, persons and creatures and last one where did they go?

Interesting thread :)'+ creds for the intiative

As for what i think >.> uhmm... it could be that races were created after their 'main' god. As said above; margonites are the reflection of abbadon. Why would it be different with the other races :)

Aye, Margonites have changed in what they are now due to their faith in Abaddon, they have changed and evolved into a more powerfull being, not really human anymore.

Norn's could be the followers of Balthazar, always thirsting for battle and doing so perhaps grown bigger to be more effecting at fighting like a blessing from Balthazar?

Asura's, heh, no idea, could be anything really.

Grenth, well we got the Grentch which are obviously Grenths followers, and some of those ghosts with the purple face (no name atm, Smoke Phantom???)

Dwayna is all around so said, so if she has followers their probably forever out of your sight, closest to anything related to Dwayna are monks, due to their healing and protection skills.

Melandru, hard one, probably something nature related, which could be ANYTHING, no idea on that one.

Finally, Lyssa, well its obvious she has priests and followers in Vabbi, ''Mirror Of Lyss'', but if there are any ''mutated/blessed'' followers of her, i haven't seen them, nor have any clue.

RE: Balthazar a Norn?

nahh, he cant be. Balthazars all like 'Wow omg, I must have one of those helms!!'
but the norns are like ' no wai dood ' so balthazar gets mad and makes his own helmet after a massacre of the norns.
and the norns are like 'dood!! we surrender!' and they all give thier helms to balthazar, and he makes a super helmet :P

Honestly i wouldn't be surprised. And i mean that in a good way, i like to be able to wonder about things and then see what happens where the question is answered, like gwen..

RE: Balthazar a Norn?

In a book i was reading, it said that Norns were masters of time. The gods could worship something like the Norns since time destroys everythign and anything including gods. Or, like knight said, a norn might have morphed into Balthazar like (spoiler) kormir.

*raises hand* Intervening question!

How about Kormir? Anyone think she will appear in the next campaign? Or maybe GW:2, after all, she's now part of the clan o' gods ;)

*POSSIBLE SPOILER*

Its possible, BUT I dont think ArenaNet will want to ruin the Nightfall storyline by adding Kormir to future games.

RE: Balthazar a Norn?

hm... this is an interesting question. On the kormir stuff, I'm not going to coment on cause I haven't gotten that far, and for the balthazar thing.

Um... I'd have to say that the norn were probably created in his likeness. Just a guess, but i guess we all find out when gwen gets here.

I hihgly disagree on this one, why they not include Kormir into GW2 or even GW:EotN?! It's a good way to show that the Trilogy is closed and the Gods are happy (that or God of War 2 campaign is upon ous).

With Kormir they would also be able to add another kind off layer to this.

Last thing, maybe the Asura are most close to the God(ess) of Knowledge since these little criters are just dieing to get new knowledge of everything (literly).

RE: Balthazar a Norn?

Ok, I'm gonna comment again.

I realized how good of a topic this was so i gave credit.

I really do think Balthazar is a Norn, if not, Then he is something like a Norn.

Heres some other Pics.

Note the horns.... There are horns on that Norn in the screen next to the assassin and that big statue behind them has horns too, so does Balthazar.
