That would be just too freakin cool...however, if it was a movie, then we wouldn't see any of the Villain content until the sequel....so Yeah and Boo! all at the same time.

I also noticed that they were doing a Speed Racer Movie slated to come out May of 2008...The Mach 5 looked cool in the pic they had..I want one of those.

And before the WoW movie no less. Either this movie will flop, or we'll be looking at a huge influx of new players being integrated into the community. Plus there's all the press the game is going to get from being the first mainstream MMO to have a movie made off of it. If everything goes as Cryptic wants and the movie becomes a hit we may even be looking at another server being added one day. I don't think it will come to that, but it might just happen.

It would be freaking awesome, but I have yet to see a good movie based off a videogame. Depending on how much money the City of Heroes movie makes(assuming that they'll actually make it), then we may see a City of Villains sequel in the future.

I'd say it really depends on whether you want good movies loosely based on video games, or good movies that stay true to the game.

The Tomb Raider movies were alright, but didn't really stay true to atmosphere of the games. The first Resident Evil movie was alright, but with an alternate storyline from the game. The second Resident Evil movie just had too much corny comic relief to stand.

I think Silent Hill was a great movie and it managed to follow the storyline of the first game really well.

And there is also talks about turning CoX into a T.V. series as well...so maybe this is the only way for Villains to get it's day on T.V. However, I beleive the whole premise will be centered around the Rikti Invasion though, where Villains wasn't even a thought.

let me start by saying AVP sucked balls. It was so lame. I'll admit, it could have been good, but the director must have been high when he had the girl and the predator team up towards the end. And how the bulk of the characters in the movie died in a matter of 3-5 minutes.
Anyways....
Mortal Kombat movies were OK...I wouldn't say great but better than some of the videogame based movies I've seen.
I've heard from multiple sources that the Resident Evil movies sucked, and were only liked by fanboys. But I haven't seen em so I really don't know. Haven't seen tomb raider either because I didn't play the games, I never plan on it, and I think that the only reason anyone would see those movies are either a.)obsessed tomb raider fanboys who would think anything with lara croft is awesome or b.)obsessed angelina jolie fans who just like her for well...u know :D.
But still, if the CoH movie came out I would be inclined to see it.

Seriously tho, with the way Hollywood thinks in terms of blockbuster trilogies nowadays, I could see CoH movie first, then CoV, then a third film integrating both casts (teaming up against the greater threat, aka, the Rikti).

I doubt there will be a CoV movie unless it goes straight to DvD... The masses just don't go for villain protagonists.. very rarely do they make for big hit movies.. and even then, they're usually bumbling bad guys who end up redeeming themselves for a likeable ending. The villains of CoV are bloodthirsty, violent and evil.. nothing about them says that the bulk of society will enjoy watching them plot and scheme on the big screen. Especially if it's a sequel.. because the heroes we see and root for in the CoH movie will be the antagonists in the CoV movie. The majority just wont go for it.

They should just make an animated movie - American style preferably - and just put it out on DVD. I doubt they'll make a CoV movie simply because, while the villains are FAR more intresting than the heroes, the CoX universe is overly hero-centric. Besides, every geek at the end of supposed second movie would be like, "They copied Empire!" because that's the only LOGICAL place you can go for CoV.
Anywho I stand by my original statement, the movie will be worth watching so long as it ain't a Uwe Boll joint. Heh heh!
