Howdy,
| QUOTE | Looking to the future, it appears that the city will need her heroes more than ever. Arachnos continues to mount its terrorist campaign against Paragon City, despite the denials of Lord Recluse. Several scientific journals have reported activity on the surface of the moon, yet government officials refuse to comment. And no doubt this is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the events that will threaten Paragon City in the coming days.
|
Now, the concept of fighting on the moon I find interesting. Fighting in 1/6 earth's gravity would cause all sorts of problems. Just think about what a 'Knockback' would do. A person would go sailing for 40 feet or more!

There'll probably be some artificial gravity crap put into place. :/
But yeah, moon stuff will be cool. :)

Plus it would kinda render Super/Combat Jumping redundant, since you'd be able to jump really high. Maybe not Super Jump so much, but CJ definately.
But I completely agree, moon missions would be sweet, if only for the new scenery and possibility for a new enemy faction/Giant (Moon) Monster opportunities.

If you want the entire population on Earth to die, feel free to nuke it.

the only way they couldnuke the moon is if they shot it from a relatively short distance(shorter than from the earth 2 the moon)and in that case i would think that the astronauts would become irradiated and become heroes or die horrible deaths

It would be horribly awesome. But impossible. Unless the US president in CoH is just as stupid as the current RL US president.

Mass driver an asteroid into an enemy moon base. The sci-fi tech in CoX could feasibly create a mass driver mounted on a space station, or even a space craft. Nuclear weapons...pfffft. Meteor Crater in Flagstaff, Arizona, holds current theories that place the size of the meteor that created the crater (which is 0.74 miles in diameter and 550 feet deep) as a 150 feet in diameter, 300,000 ton nickel/iron rock. Remember, the earth's atmosphere ablated a major portion of the meteor's entry energy, and the moon has no such protection.
Look at the moon when it is full...lots and lots of craters. Force Fields...pffft. The siesmic shock set off by the impact, even miles away would literally cripple a base. This is not, after all, the Star Trek universe.
On a side note: Hypervelocity weaponry exists in real life and on Earth right now. NASA is developing hypervelocity weaponry (American Rifleman August 2003 issue, Page 55 "The Guns of NASA") at the NASA White Sands Test Facility. Some nice pictures and interesting statistics.
