well...i was just playing gw, went out to get a drink and when i came back the screen was blue with some white writing...something about an error and if it happens agen or has happened agen balblabla software hardware balbalblaba

what did i do wrong?
what can i do to prevent this?
is this very bad?
can you PLEASE give me simple answers without complicated computer language :D i suck at PCs...

Sounds like the dreaded blue screen of death to me. It haunts the dreams of all gamers.
Reboot, hope it doesn't happen again. It's probably just windows being daft. If it does do it again then you need to pay attention to the error message and tell us what it says.

i've gotten blue screens for many diffrent reasons. maybee something needs to be updated...
1.modem drivers
2.direct X drivers
3.video card drivers
try updating these.
also how often doess it happen, and what exactly does it say. more info would help as there are many blue screen errors.It can be VERY frustrating.

okok...uhm.. first of all, i live in tenerife, spanish ,y first lanauge so naturally my PC is spanish too. so was the blue message of death doom thing =/ i kinda suck at translating but it said something like this :
if this has happened the first time then reboot ur pc
if this happens agen then check if something has not been updated or uninstall the last few installed programs
soooo er.. yeh it's first time this happened to me sincen new PC. i rebooted now everything is fine, but what happens if it happens agen? i'll cry...i bet it'll take ages to fix agen :( can't live without gw for more than a few days.
so what do i have to update and how? arghh frustration =/

BSOD!! everyone remain calm!!
anyway... normally when my comp BSODs it's usually cos i havent turned it off or restarted in several days (i know, i abuse my computers... they deserve it!!) so if that is what you've been doing then that's prolly why you got a BSOD - i think it's something to do with your RAM becoming full, so u need to restart to empty it. anyway, if it happens again, tell us what the message says.

yesyes but this is not helping me!! to tell u agen if it happens agen! what if that's the last time i see it and my pc dies! then i can't answer back and by the time i got my pc back the problem is probably solved lol
i mean, can't you help me to prevent it from happenin it agen by using a SIMPLE explanation pleaseee? cmon i've given u so much information :D
thanks...goin to bed now cu^^ 18 more hours of pain and then FINALLY 2 months vacation. can't wait till wednesday :D
sorry for gettin off topic agen -.- but this is kinda frustratin and i need to talk to somebody because i don't want PC to die agen...especially so near to hollidays lol

A Bluescreen is a strong hint that you might have harware issues, standard thing to do is update drivers, as stated above or if it happened right after you updated them you can try a system restore (start>programs>accessories>system tools > System Restore => Restore from earlier restore point and click next follow instructions...) [I assume you are running windows XP]
A few things you should know about bluescreens,
It happens to every puter from time to time so if this just happens once, don't loose any sleep over it, just blame Microsoft or smtng like most of us do. just reboot and play (/pray)
Hardware issues are oftenly caused by driver errors/conflicts (as stated before)
Have you noticed it's getting warmer ? Well parts in your computer and especially your CPU can become too hot. Possibly causing your computer to shut down automatically in order to prevent parts melting (that's a bad thing btw) or causing bluescreens... You can remedy that by installing a better cpu fan, by installing some casefans etc...
fastest way to temporarily improve cooling is to play with an open case, not recommended btw, but if you don't have casefans installed it may give your puter a bit of extra airflow (mind where you put your drinks if u do this)
You can also try re-installing the game(remember to backup Game.dat) however I'd be really suprised if that solves it. Given the bluescreen/hardware issue re-installing is a long shot.

ok, i'll try to help more...
if you have recently got windows vista then it might be because it doesn't like some programs. if you keep your computer turned on all the time then that is the reason, and you should restart it about twice a day. other than that, if you installed any drivers or programs then they might cause a problem. I hope this helps, but there is nothing that any of us can really do without knowing exactly what the message says. sorry.

I dont want to lecture you but i have to clarify this for you:
The information you have given AkA the blue screen of death, means your PC had a bloody error, and thus decided to shut itself off before further harm is done.
Simple as that, now, you ask of us to help you prevent it, that is possible, but if you refuse to start learning a wee bit about computers, especially about updating the thing, then let someone else do it, cause everyone here is telling you to look after the drivers,
instead of being frustrated, open that WIKI and start looking for answers or call someone you know that has knowledge about PC's.
Just... know this, people try to help you, but no-one from here can just ''come over'' and fix it, so they give you as much information as possible to solve the problem from a distance, either you are open for it or reject it, at any rate, if we say it in just one sentence, you risk ruining it even further.
No, im not flaming, im just telling you, do read what they say, lots of clues and solutions from people, it cant be said much simpler then that.

And the horror that is Windows continues...
Seriously, its probably nothing to worry about, things like that happen all the time,ut restart your computer and you likely will not see it again. They are inevitable to get some time or another, though.
Even Bill Gates got one while showing off XP in Vegas when it came out. LOL.
