| MM versus Illusion 'troller in PvP??? |

Played way too much PvP in Siren's Call (on Freedom) this weekend with my Illusion/Storm controller (my Blind, Snow Storm, Spectral Terror combo netted me and my teammates a nice amount of bounty). There were lots heroes and villains and plenty of Masterminds and their minions which made for some nice all out battles.
Question though: Does an Illusion Controller "Deceived" work on a Mastermind's minions when it hits? Do you have to "deceive" the MM himself to get the full effect of this power?
I "deceived" a number of minions over the weekend and saw the purple globes floating around their heads indicating that they'd been "deceived" but I was never quite sure if the minions actually attacked each other or other villains. It seemed to have more of a "placate" effect.

i have a ill/emp controller on freedom that i pvp on sometimes you can confuse them but i dont think they will hit the mm just the minions. but since i gave up almost all my ill attacks to go pure emp i cant rlly be sure. hopes this helps you

If you confuse a Legacy Chain boss before he summons his pet, the pet attacks him. Perhaps this might happen with MMs?

MM pets are confuseable, though most have a resistance to it, but it is possible with an accuracy check, now i reverse the question, could a psychic dominator confuse an Ilusion troller's pets?

Does this statement include "Deceive" which is pretty much the same as "Confuse"? I guess one could argue that "Deceive" changes the external environment because it is an illusion, whereas "Confuse" is internal mind control.
In anycase, I seem to able to "Deceive" robots but they didn't exactly turn on their MM nor his other pets. I'm guessing that the MM would have to actively send his minions to attack a target be it foe or friend who now appears to be a foe.

Phantom Army is unaffected by any attack, buff, debuff, or mezz status. Phantasm, however, is a tangible pet. While I have never had my Phantasm confused or deceived, I have seen him held and put to sleep. I would guess it is possible to deceive him as well.

Hmm...I believe Phantom Armies are immuned to everything. I don't think you can confuse them but maybe if a dominator confused the controller, his/her pets would attack nearby targets.
I've been hit by a confuse a number of times in PvP and I don't recall my pets behaving any differently but I usually don't stick around to find out.

A confuzed Troller does not get the "confuze" mezz applied to their pets. They will continue to attack enemy targets.
I haven't seen any confuse effects ever cause a pet to do anything but just stand their and look stupid. They never attack friendly targets, they just don't attack at all.
Confuzed MM robot pets act exactally the same. If confuze is applied on them they just don't do anything until the effect is cleared from them or goes away on it's own. They are also highly resistant to confuze powers. But sometimes that requires a certain proximity to the Master Mind for the effect to be active. Get them a good distance from their handler and they get weaker. Similar in range as the Leadership pool powers.
So if you get a lucky root on a flee-ing MM pet, you might be able to hit it with confuse to shut it down for easy killing. Just keep in mind that once they get so far from the MM, they will automaticaly port to their side. Better kill it fast!

hiya, i was just reading through the replies and thought i'd add mine.
being a fairly devout mm player i have had my share of encounters with illusion trollers.
most recent was my bot/trap mm in sirens, she was decieved and as a base reaction i dropped a trap at my feet which did indeed go off on me, so the traps will work against you, fortunately my bots were in defensive mode so they werent going to attack anyone anytime soon.
however i did meet a friend in sirens with a ninja/poison mm and boy did i get smacked round, not only by her illusionary pets but occasionaly my own pets were taking swipes at me do yes, if the mm gets confused then theres a chance the pet will attack them, so bodyguard mode isnt all that great when your confused and attacking your own minions.

Well, me and my friend switched accounts and then we both went to RV, he was playing my Illusion/Emp and I was playing a Stone/SS. He was having a lot of fun, and decided to summon all of his pets, (He had a cataphract also).
Then, outta nowhere, a dom SINGLE-TARGET confused him. ALL of his pets started attacking eachother and him, even the cataphract (Which was really funny...the cataphract like one-shotted him :o) So, confuse definetly works against heroes, which means it probably works against villains.
However, I was on my Illusion/Emp on Sunday, and I kept killing this MM - Why? His pets helped out :) If the pets are in defensive mode, they will attack whatever they see, if they are currently attacking a target before they get confused, they will continue to attack that target.

any time a mm attacks my ill/empath in pvp the result is a face down mm. now a mm teaming with my ill/empath and we clear the field.

Yeah, it also doesn't help if if you as the confused MM also attack your pets while they are attacking. But the main thing is for the Ill troller is to confuse while the pets are attacking, if you do it when they arent then the pets wont attack as defensive mode means they wont do a thing unless threatened. ;)
