Ok. I have had enough of these laggy servers! Even the International ones!
First lemme describe my situation:
i just finished all 3 games with my dervish, and i ran out of stuff to do. HM lags way to friggin much, so, like the bored person i am, i decided I'd farm for items/gold/runes/etc. every things going great, until about 3 weeks ago, maybe as much as a month now, i have been getting disconnected randomly during my farm runs. i'm not a gold farmer that helps other players' accounts, just my own. now my goal here is to accumulate around 500k in gold for when i port over to GW:EN. here is a recent screenshot:
now, i have about 300k saved so far, but in my recent days of attempting to hoard all the gold i possibly can, i cant be lagging as much as i am. YES, I WAS CURRENTLY ON A WIRELESS computer, but today i plugged it into my broadband connection , and their servers keep booting me to logon screen, or not allowing me to cast certain self healing skills like mystic vigor and mystic regeneration. as with the lag, the game seems to freeze my character, all while allowing the enemies to keep moving, so when my connection catches up, i find myself at the nearest shrine with a DP. it's very uncomforting to know that a handful of level 12s actually killed me: maybe i should death level, and farm xp, instead :)
i understand that there have been changes to prevent too much solo farming and encourage group gameplay, but it doesn't phase me, cause i rely heavily on the drops to sell for gold anyways when gold is not available. i asked a guildie, and he said it appears he has farmed exuro's will clean, but he' got an older computer. to sum it up:
1. when i now go outto Jaya Bluffs to farm, lag spikes and miscasting are leading me to think that anet is secretly "going under the table" to halt my progress with out my knowledge, WHICH I AM SURE THEY ARE NOT DOING, but the thought is there in my head now.
2. yes, my guildie has a slow comp, but i have a comp that well meets the requirements to run GW, including a broadband connection i recently purchased, cause wireless isnt obviously cutting it. we both farm for stuff, and are both experiencing lotsa lag during solo farming.
3. i have been lagging for about a year and a half, since factions came out, so i thought maybe its a simple problem in my internets or they are working on their servers, perhaps?
4. because i have logged about 2,000 game hours over the past 2 years, is ANET trying to tell me to get a life? atm, imo, the lag is making log on more frequently to make up for lost time towards my goal.
is the lag a sign that maybe i should not be solo farming as much as i currently am? again, i would try my luck at Hard MOde again, if i didnt get high ping spikes upon entering zones.
Here's a screenshot of my recent ping before i logged off for the day:
It normally get's into the 100k ranges, but today is considered a good day.

Same problem has been happening to me. My problem is that I would lose internet temporary and then get it back like a few minutes later. Really annoying if your in a mission or farming.
I got cable and not broad band, so I believe theres a problem with the super computer handling the internet stuff. Maybe its time they got a new computer?
Made for another forum I go on, Just felt the need to do something with this sig.

Same thing is happening to me, except in higher end places, such as UW, when I solo trap with ranger, one move, which should make me move a step ges me in-between two aatxes which means 1k=wasted. Though, as soon as I switch to my warr, I get a good run, 2 ectos dropped, the next one, 2 aatxes are patrlling. I avoid all aatxes on aggro bubble to get quest. I get to circle, and adying nightmare pops up, and all aatxe rush on me. Whilst Im going WTF?!?!?! The run after that, I got to smites, put up VwK, and lagged for 20seconds!!! Typically, I dont have these lag spikes, or problems, even though I am using wireless. Hopefully Anet is making GW better.. If not, I may quit some day, in the relatively short future ( maybe a year, or less )

okay, this game has once and for all officially lost my future vote. its been one heck of a ride, but i have to finally say farewell. i will be giving all of my hard-earned gold away, and all of the greens i have collected over the past 2 years, which i guess is the nicest thing to do, and venture into other better games, whichever they may be.
this option came to me today, as the list of things i can no longer do due to the problems with ANET's servers:
1. farming for gold/items/runes/etc.
2. tried farming in UW tonight, thinking that would be the safest place, cause EVERYBODY goes down there, so i assumed its only fair to give a little attention down there. never happened. ended up "laggroing" (verb/noun: to lag and apparently aggro enemies while lagging, because your character can move autonomously during the precious time) and wasting 2k and 5 minutes of loading screens.
3. could not pick up any of my dyes over the weekend. when attempting to pick up a dye, i noticed that my character doesn't move in the desired direction...alot.
4. the new update was a nice touch. added alot of pve stuff to add flavor to the game. however, the auto-targeting feature will never sit well with me ever again, should they choose to leave it implemented upon my possible return. it confused the heck out of my dervish, often targeting the farthest foe, and not changing to the closest one that seems to be attacking me. in 1v1 battles in pve, when the foe dies and it cant find a target, it seems to "scan" the area, locking my game up until it finishes its sweep...empty-handed.
5. how can a dervish keep itself healed, if the skills being used never cast on time? what is it about maintaining 3 enchantments, attacking with 3 skills, and periodically casting 2 healing spells???? everytime i try to cast, the enemies and my character stops fighting. ok i guess, but if they stop i'd like to be doing some damage. lagging way, way longer than the duration of a freshly-casted enchantment is baffling, as well as disappointing. if it doesn't lag DURING the enchantment, it decides it will lag the extra 20% my weapon puts on, instead. let's choose...lag for 24 seconds (full duration on 20 seconds +20%), or 4 (+20%) seconds. how bout it just not cast? it also seems to like that...
If these actions are part of an anti-farming procedure, i feel disappointed that i was not notified of my/any wrongdoings. can't do quests/missions/HM/ to begin with, so i guess the only alternative to keep me playing was to resort to farming. nothing wrong with saving for the next game, right? worked well for me in factions, and now NF, so i do not see what the huge deal is.
if it is one of my 4 home computers, i have put around 2k in upgrades, just to try to gain an edge in any one of them, whether it was my fault or not. i have come to guess the reason being that ::: yes, Guild Wars is ran on free servers. but if paying for a nice server is the way to go then dangit, let it be so. i recently tried WoW on my friend's account, and i must say i'm impressed. i just may end up purchasing my very own account in the near future.
i look foward to revisiting these wonderful forums often, and providing help from my experiences with this once great game. i have learned alot about certain people, met a handful of very nice people, and had a semi-enjoyable experience. sorry that it is so long, it's pretty late here in the house.
Farewell, cruel servers!

That's odd, I live in Japan and am accessing US servers and i have absolutely no problem with lag. Once in a while it happens but i know that its my internet provider who is noob. You should probably consider that its the same for you. Honestly, unless you live in China or Russia and are accessing US servers you shouldn't be getting do much lag. I would know, i can access Euro servers just fine as well without a 21k ping and their servers are a hemisphere away from me.

I had lag problems similar to this one during the last MMORPG I played so I ended up writing and calling their customer support to give them a piece of my mind.
A friend of mine, after hearing my complaints, told me to run a traceroute to see where my problems were coming from. So I got the server IP for the MMORPG in question, ran the traceroute, and to my shameful surprise, the lag problem I was so upset about was not coming from my MMORPG server. It was coming from some congested traffic node in Kansas.
Needless to say, when I got a reply from customer support, I did not reply to it because I was too embarassed for some of the things I said...
So in a nutshell, the lag you are experiencing can come from various sources and not have anything to do with the game server at all...

try this might work,
scandisk
diskcleanup
defragment
then reinstail GW
might take a while but give it a try
(somthing like that hapened to my friendin pre he could barly move, but comp was above specs but still kinda iffy, worked alot better for him after)
also hte four computers are they on the same line?
dont know if this would help much but try it
romove the wires or make sure there not on the internet, just a tought as in my scholl there all on the same line so the more computers on slows it down, i tihnk.

1. Uninstalled Guild Wars for the 60th time. restart
2. uninstalled every program and games (cept for virus scan). restart
3. did a virus scan via webroot spysweeper. removed 3 items. restart
4. finished deleting of screenshots and saved builds, and GW root directories. restart
5. defragmented hard drive space. computer never looked so clean! <<< took the longest to do, took a nap at this point
6. woke up, restarted.
7. turned computer off to remove wireless network card.
8. took broadband/cat 5 cabling and wired it into board. turned computer back on.
9. reinstalled Guild Wars, and proceeded to get all files/updates. <<< went to eat breakfast
10. came back, sat waiting for over an hour to get to guild hall (which i assumed would be after logging in and after updates)
11. logged in (now on broadband/cable), traveled to GH from Great Temple
12. went to quest, and farm for an hour. lagged out over 20 times, was able to reconnect 3 of 20.
13. tried to help a friend cap derv avatars, and help another finish factions. both resulted in lots of lag.
14. in a last ditch effort, i went back to farm for a few minutes. after being unable to pick up 2 black dye drops, i have since quitted.
i will log on temporarily to recieve my 7k donation back from guildie and chat, but will not indulge myself in anymore disapppointing gameplay.
i got way more than enough hardware to run this game, so i know it cant be me. i called my ISP, and they said my traffic amounts to the average in the area.
Guild Wars/my current Requirements (fron NF box):
Windows XP/2000/ME/98 <<< main machine has vista, but my other 3 have XP
Pentium 4 2.0 ghz or equivalent <<< P4, 3.2GHz
1GB RAM <<< 2x 1GB DDR PC5300, 667MHz
DVD-ROM (or CD for Prophecies and Factions)
4GB HDD space available <<< after defrag and uninstalls, had over 160GB left
ATI Radeon 9600 or NVIDIA GeForce fx 5700 or above Radeon x1600pro 512MB
16-bit sound card <<< no sound, play mute, all sound lowest/turned off
Internet connection <<< both wireless and broadband
Keyboard and mouse <<< no-brainer
Direct X 9 <<< got DX10 with vista, DX9 with XP
it this didn't work (in which it didn't unfortunately) then i don't know what will.
