| I need help understanding some pvp |
|

hey im not new to the game of guild wars, ive had it for over a year and am quite experience in pve. but when it comes to pvp i dont reall yhave much experience. ive played team and random arenas and unlocked HA but im not sure how it works.
Heres what i dont get:
What are fame and rank and how are they related to balthasar faction?
Are Fame and Rank Related?
How do fame and rank benefit you or are they like titles?
Is one win in HA, after you beat the npc's, goin to take one away from europe or whoever currently has favor?
if you could help me out with that id really appriciate it

you gain fame by winning in HA which is used to determine your rank and have nothing to do with faction.

fame increases your rank which after rank3 becomes a title which also gives you an emote.

HA does determine favor yes BUT it reqs 5 consecutive wins in HOH(Hall of Hero's) for the oposing side.
some of that may not be fully correct since i dont have a 100% grasp on everything myself as far as i know but i could be wrong.

Think all the info is in the previous post, but I'll elaborate some.

You get fame from winning battles in Heroes Ascent, 1 for the first win, 3 for the second, and so on, more for each consecutive win. Your rank is a title that is determined by how much fame you have, tier 1 is 25 fame, 2 is 75, 3 is 180, and so on, and every 3 ranks gets you a new emote you can do with the /emote command, rank 3 is deer, rank 6 is wolf, rank 9 is tiger, rank 12 is phoenix, and don't think we know what rank 15 is yet because no one has gotten it.
As for Balthazar Faction, you get faction for kills and wins in Heroes Ascent just like any other PvP arena, but it doesn't directly have anything to do with fame and rank.

The main benefit from your rank is the emote, it's a very clear way of showing off that you are good at PvP. Though there are plenty of people would claim getting rank 3 is a joke and shows no skill, but you can just ignore them.

No, one win in HA will only take you to the next match on your way to the Hall of Heroes. Only the battles in the Hall of Heroes determine who has favor. The rest are fought in different areas, up to nine, though you can skip some if you're lucky, on your way to the Hall. Five consecutive wins in Halls with seize favor for your server.

Just a few things to correct or add in on the above post. 1 win past zaishen, is 1 fame, 2 wins, will give you two fame, making your run so far equal 3 fame. You don't get 3 fame from the 2nd win. you get two, and you made one for the win before that one. I'm sure thats what you meant, but i wasut making it clear for others. And to make hte favor thing a little clearer, yes five in a row is needed for your country to claim favor, but those five wins do not have to be from the same group. 5 different american guilds can win, as long as they win five straight between them.
But seriously the favor thing is completely stupid to the pvpers that take halls. most of us don't play pvp and can care less who has favor. If anything its just more of a cool thing to take it from europe or japan ect. But i can safely say most of our goals for being there isn't to gain our country favor so people can use shrines and go to uw and fow.lol. mainly we are there for the challenge, the fame to get our next rank, and some what the golds ect we get from the chest each time we win. Nice to have items as a pvper that pve players dont have. they would have to buy some of the items that drop, like the shostly hero mini, and certain rare skins that only drop max damage out of the hoh chest.

Q1,Fame helps you get ranks which help you get titles
Q2,Yes fame is used to get a rank
Q3,They are titles and every 3 ranks you get you have a ne and improved emote NOTE only counts till rank 15 (max rank)
Q4,yes after you take them down it says "america bla bla bla bla And they have to win (how any times in a row) to get the favor of the gods

actually fame is related to balth faction in a way.
Every time your rank goes up the max amount of balth faction you are allowed to have is increased by 2k.

for every win you get 1 extra fame. For example the first lvl after the zaishen is 1 fame(usually underworld) then the next map you go to is 2 fame and so on. Even if you skip to halls and halls is your first match it's 1 fame if u win halls that way. So it's 1 fame, 2 fame, 3 fame etc etc.

But one thing that did change is favor and Heroes Ascent are no longer tied together

Thank you for explaing what i meant in the above post. lol.I did in fact mean first win PAST the zaishen, not including them. if i could get fame off the zaishen i would get 5 friends together with deep freeze and sh builds load two sh heroes, and earn roughly 180 fame an hour and never have to fight a human. with that build i take an average of 20 or less seconds to aoe them to death. oner galer to stop ward of ham, repeatedly with an sh bar, the rest deep freeze one target each with glyph of sac, and they all unload sh searing hewat tenais heat, fireball and breath of fire. lowest i got messing around with that is 11 seconds. but that was just for fun, with out healers youll definately get rolled 8 times out of ten on underworld. lol
anyways yeah, have fun :)
