Are weapons made for only specific professions in Guild Wars?
An example: An Assassin with a Ritualist 2nd Profession; can the Assassin use a sword even though he/she is not associated with the Warrior class?

you can use any weapon on any profession but with an A/Rt you wont do any damage with a sword because you dont have the Swordmanship Attribute

As an Assassin you would deal more damage if you used Daggers as you have access to the Dagger Mastery Attribute. Having said that, using weapons from other professions is fun, it sets your enemies off-guard.

You can play with any weapon you like but you won't get the bonus mods:
example:
an assasin with a
Spawing wand of fortitude
11-22 damage (req 9)
energy + 10
+30 health
HSR: 20
+5 energy( while health is above 50)
u only get the +5 energy

Every weapon that you want to have delivering the maximum blow (like 15-22 for a sword... shoot me if I'm wrong) need at least a level 8 (usually 9 or some even higher) requirement on its attribute to actually do the maximum damage.
Thus, it is no use (unless you are a caster and use a different feature on the item) that you use weapons that you do not have the requirement for.
Using a weapon from your secondary professions of course is
a nice option, since, mentioned before, this sets people of balance (like a monk/assasin with self protect but sin attack skills... you you can't beat them as easily as a normal sin... did you bring enchant removal on enemies in AB.... ???? ).
anyway, have fun and good luck. Just do not try to use something you could not put to the max. No use trying to use daggers with req. 9 when you are a paragon/warrior.
regards,
Michiel
