Well, its not so much as saying whats better, its what suits your play style.
I've played a scrapper with invul to 50, and currently have a /energy brute at lvl 40. So its really which do you prefer, resistance to damage, or defense to damage(not being hit)?
Invul is very nice in keeping the damage in take low, and it has a dull pain to help keep you on your feet longer. Unstoppable is nice, but the crash requies careful planning of when to use or when to run for it.
Energy aura has nice defense to most types of damage, tho both sets lack something to resist against Psi damage. But energy aura has no dull pain or self heal, only 2 resist damage powers and a stealth power. So you might need to consider Aid Self for EA. But EA gets Energy Drain earlier than /elec, so once you get it at 28, you'll be ableto cruise through missions seemlessly. EA's Overload power if much like Elude, in that you gain incredible defense to all dmg types(but Psi), and comes with a dull pain aspect to it as well.

I would personally prefer Energy Aura, but that's just because I prefer defence over resistance. Besides, I mostly only go for powersets which give you either good recovery (Regeneration on Heroes) or an endurance heal (like Energy Aura), so I'd vote for Energy Aura. It's just so hawt.

Only got my /energy Brute to 14, so dont have much experience from that one. Though, i have a feeling that its better in most sitations than Invul. At 40+, an Invul can use Unstoppable when theyre in tight situtations (I use it almost every mish), but /energy have various nifty powers such as the End Drain, which makes them much more flexible than Invuls.

Well..I definately prefer Energy Aura. I do have an energy/energy stalker at the moment, but have yet to fully grasp the secondary powers(Still a low level). My decision is based on how it looks, what stat information I received from other websites and witnessing the secondary set constantly with a common friend..even though the Stalkers Energy Aura is slightly different.
I am really looking forward to getting this stalker into pvp, apparently Energy Aura is one of the best in there(from what I hear..and it seems to be a decent statement). I plan to make an Energy/Energy Brute as well..eventually. Just for my um..insight :P..i'm gonna compare the two really quickly:
What does Energy have to offer/lack?:
-Works with defense, soft resistance
-Includes a stealth power
-Includes an End drain/end gain power
-Includes an end discount power
-Lacks a self heal
-Mez protection at a fairly early level
-Lots of def-debuff resistance
What does Invulnerability have to offer/lack?:
-Works mostly with resistance, soft defense
-Includes a Self heal
-Includes 4 Auto powers
-Includes an interesting ability that grants a bonus to acc and def for each melee ranged foe
-Mez protection not available as quickly
-Not as end managable
Well..i'm not gonna point out every single thing lol. All i'm saying is; Energy Aura all the way! Now..time for you to decide <_<...

Conserve Power. Sure, it's level 35, but it's SO worth it once you get there.
