Well this very day I went through my files and I found a whole lot of crap in it. So after clearing up everything that needed clearing, I found out I only have 3GB left. 3GB that was originally a 26GB computer, so do you guys have any methods to get more space on your harddrive?

Well I sometimes clean up my whole computer, and then I gain a few Gb's. I remove games I dont play anymore, I remove programs that are of use anymore, etc. Altough if you are thinking your quality or speed of guild wars is affected by the space your computer has left, you are wrong. You have to buy a better video card then, or/and a new prossecor.

I say clean up everything that isn't needed. Installed games that are no longer played, or hardly played. Get rid of any unneeded Music or Movies. Run some Spyware and adware finders. And I suggest getting an external hdd as well, to put all of those unneeded files on. :)

Not that im advertising but i have a Maxtor external harddrive, works like a dream...i had a different one, but it didnt work with wireless connectivity when i changed so, had to get a dif one, but maxtor external harddrives are cheap, good and big. they look sexy too.

If you're computer's also running slower, I would recommend a complete wipe - then just install what you use, it might help with the space and it will definitely improve your Computer's performance. Otherwise, as said, delete anything you're not using.

26 GB is not enough !!!
Windows Xp takes atleast 10GB for itself plus 2-3 GB for system restore
Now add up your software, GW game takes up anywhere from 2 to 4 or 6 GB of space.
Your multimedia files add up too, expect another 2 GB or more. If you have movies (he he he) expect even more.
Therefore you need atleast a 60GB hard drive these days!
Regular Maintenance will clean up 2 to 3 GB from cache and temp. Norton and McAfee have such suites and work better than the Windows Disk Cleanup.

This what you need to do. Go out and buy yourself an internal hard drive and an external case, put the two together and voila you have an external HDD that cost you less than buying an already built External HDD like maxtor or any of the others out there. Good decent 200gb hard drive should cost you a little over $100 and a good case should be no more than 20 dollars. I've got about a Tera of HDD space in externals that I've put together myself. Very cost effective I tell ya

Dude, right your drive is woefully small. If you plan to store any video you will need something much bigger. Also they are only half right about you drive size not impacting you games performance. Since it is soo small with no extra space your files are most likely getting fragmented resulting is a minor performance downgrade and you cant defrag, you need at leat 15% with the Windows tool. Aslo depending on you memory amount, and by judging from you small drive size you most like dont have much of either, you are probally suffering from a small page file too wich could impact performance. If you post your full specs we could sugest the best way to help yourself, but overall you most likely need a second hard drive to offlod some less used junk at the least.
I cant wait to build my next PC with over a TB, RAID 5 array, and 2-4 GB of memory. I almost !@#$% myself when thinking of it.

Ok, Ive taken all your ideas (except buying new stuff >_>) and I got only 1 GB from all that. Im sorta embarassed that some iPods have a higher GB number than my computer. But the thing is I cant delete a lot of stuff because our family has only 2 computers, one 50GB for my dads work and the computer I use. The computer I use is shared between me and my brother, who is in high school in a lot of honors classes, typing and saving a lot of stuff. Also a good 5GB is our printer, which can only work through my computer. Any more ideas would be nice :)

I think Windows XP is much small than that, when I had a fresh install it was only about 2Gb (I believe). 26 is plenty to manage a computer, I used to only have a 20Gb hardrive, with a 3Gb Guild Wars file among other programs.
You can manage a computer on 26Gb, you'll just have a challenge if you want to keep numerous files... I would still recommend a complete wipe, to remove all traces of all removed programs (back up what you want to keep), then reinstall only the things you'll use.

Actually after all the service packs and updates XP will take about 10 GB of space to run correctly, maybe less depending on some settings. 5 GB for a printer is absolutly insane. i have never seen driver and software for even a multi function printer take more then 150 MB, 1 GB = 1024 MB. You may want to examine that. If it is just files you could burn them to disks and free up that space easy.

It adds up to 5GB, its laser, colored, scanner, and it can take 3-D stuff (mainly used for my dads work) and print copies of it, and a bunch of other stuff.
