I just started this new defender build. At lv.6 hes fun to play. I thought that the -res from sonic would work well with the damage buffs from kinetics. Heres a build that i plan to follow:
Name: Sonetik
Primary: Kinetics
Secondary: Sonic Blast
Power Pools: Fitness, Flight, Leadership
Ancillary: Power Mastery
Lv.1 - Transfusion (2 accuracy, 3 heal, 1 recharge)
Shriek (2 accuracy, 2 damage)

Lv.4 - Siphon Power (2 accuracy, 2 recharge)
Lv.6 - Siphon Speed (2 accuracy, 2 recharge)

Lv.12 - Speed Boost (3 end. mod.)

Any input on powers and slots is highly appreciated as this is my first kinetics build. Thanks in advance for any help.

Dont slot hover with anything other than end reduc or defense if it takes it. Its a lame power. But overall i cant really see anything wrong with your build, good job! i have played kin/sonic and it is fun to play

I've got this same build on Virtue as Kinetic Shockwave. Have him up to lvl 40 so far and I can tell you it's a lot of fun playing him. I'm curious why you chose not to pick up inertial reduction. I used the flight pack from the first safeguard until I got it and since then I haven't had to use another travel power. Gave me a lot more flexibility in the powers that I chose. Just a suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestions...I took Hover because with Siphon Speed it goes pretty fast and it will at least keep me out of combat range...I was debating on wether or not to drop hover/fly and pick up Inertial Reduction...If i drop Hover/Fly should i pick up Invisibility to go with IR so im not killed tryin to hop around...Any more advice on travel pools would help...Thanks

Well, I have to disagree with that. If you 3 slot Hover with 3 Flight SO's, your movement is a bit under the base speed of Fly. On my 50 blaster, I have hover, and it is not a useless power for a couple reasons:
1: It keeps you out of Melee Range (and only two villain groups do high damage at range, all else do low damage).
2: As a blaster I need to move around, to get better angle's for me attacks, so having it slotted with 3 Flight Speed SO's, it is a big bonus.
3: Hover has a .1 endurance drain, so not a big drain. Hover give about 3.5% Defense Bonus to Blaster, Controller, and Defenders. So adding 3 Defense SO's would bring it up to 7% defense.
So that is my opinion on Hover,
And BTW good build.

I have played controllers quite a bit and I recommend the following.
1.) Assault - 1 slot end reduction (3 slots are not necessary)
2.) Tactics - 6 slot 4 to hit, 2 end reduction (do this asap)
After Tactics becomes available it is not necessary to 2 slot your powers with accuracy.
Some of your kinetics powers have endurance drain effects you may want to make the most of it by multi slotting with endurance modifications.

I've been considering picking up the concealment set as well. I just like my sonic powers too much to give up some for an additional pool. I haven't run into very many issues travelling, though. Once or twice I'll get popped by a sniper in Founder's, but who doesn't? And once you slot IR with an extra jump enhancement or two...you'll jump so far you won't believe it! And it's fun to go back to Atlas and start passing out the SB and IR for the lower level toons to play with!

I can see where you are coming from the blaster point of view, i have one too, but if you really think about it, you arent gonna need to move around that much during a fight, just start off out of the melee or so they just use ranged and you are set until the fight is done. And i never said it was a useless power, lol. Just said it was lame.

If you really want out of harms way then slot your powers with range and this will help you stay beyond the range of most ranged attacks.
I have also seen that you have not done this to any of your powers. I highly recommend that you consider doing this. I am an advocate of attacking from as far away as possible.

Wow...Thanks for all the input guys, so much in such a small amount of time...Now im considering dropping Hover/Fly and taking IR...If i do this what would be another good power to fill in the second slot i'd be opening??...I don't want Repel...Would Vengeance be any good?

veng. is good at the higher lvls yes (due to some GM"s and AV"s) so i would say yes get it!

OK, so i guess i'll drop the Flight pool...I'll take IR and Vengeance...But, will Knockback be a problem without hover??..I only took hover so that i didnt have to deal with KB...Thanks for all the help

More Often then not, if you are teaming, and have a tank, you won't be getting hit, so no, KB won't be a problem.
If your solo'ing...Well, there not alot of mob's that have KB, most of those are in the 30's, those that are below that are not minions. If you slot with Range, you can drop the mob before they even get to you.

I would suggest skipping siphon speed, it may be a good first time move, but when you get to your higher levels I find less and less use for it.(well unless you plan to pvp, then that's a different story )
Transfusion is fairly accurate and doesn't need 2 acc, maybe 1 but eh whatever. I would slot speed boost with 3 end mod and then 1 range increase. Id you're going flying slot swift with fly enhancers.
And why waste the slots with tactics and assault? they only need 2 end redux and then get at least 1 to hit enhance in each.
On my kin I run 5 toggles, you may see a problem with this, but no, because I picked up electricity mastery. Power sink and transference is an awesome combo to get end up, especially when you nuke, just pop a blue and do either one of those moves and you're back up with your end in no time.
I woulden't wait till 49 to get increase density though, it's a good move and a decent alternative for clear mind.
And this is just an input...I would go superspeed, get hasten and superspeed then get inertia reduction and you have your travel all set.
