Hia.
I just started CoV, I am still on trial but on friday I will buy myself a real account.
Now.
I got alot of friend who play on my server and we are all in the same lvl (lvl 0...) On friday we are having LAN and starting CoV for real.
But.
Unlike my friends, I have not chosen my power sets yet.
I am going to heal, correction, I badly want to heal. Also, I would love to do some DPS. This means I got to be a corrupter.
Now what?.
I have NO idea what powers that deals most DPS, and what powers qich heals best.
Fireblast/Kinetics?
Frost/Thermal radiation?
Energy blast/Dark miasma?
I have no idea...
Can anyone here help me develop a healing/dps set, I will be active in this forum and read all the advices I can get. Right now it's 01:09, so I will go to bed.
Best healing set... What is the best healing set?
BTW
I would like to know how to reccurect fallen allys, not VERY important, but handy to know.

I say Ice Blast or Fire Blast/Thermal Shields
Ice and Fire both have very high DPS, and thermal gets heals, shields, bonuses and a Rez power
Clicky.

Well..I would go for a Fire Blast/Thermal Readiation combo, ice blast/thermal radiation combo, or a Sonic Attacks/thermal radiation combo. Thermal radiation, in my opinion, is the best healing set for CoV. It has a group heal, a single target heal, buffs, debuffs and a rez, which pretty much covers everything that you want.
The reason I say maybe Sonic Attacks, is because of the attack "Scream", which has excellent dps. As for Fire Blast, it's capable of lots of DoT. I hope that helps..because it was off the top of my head.

Yeah, for solid healing, /thermal is probably best for covering all the options there. /kinetics isn't a great heal set at all--its AoE heal targets an enemy, which is pretty tough to play, until you get used to the idea of actually running into the fight to cast a ranged heal.
Another option is /radiation, which has a nice self-targeted AoE heal, and lots of enemy debuffing.
As far as DPS goes, Fire or Ice Blast are common choices. Solid range, plenty of AoEs. If you're more of a surgical attacker/debuffer, you might consider Dark Blast as a primary. It has the longest-reaching Snipe in the game, and most of its powers involve a -Accuracy debuff on enemies, which can be handy.

Unwelcome to Gameamp Sio...you've come to the right place for any and all answers.
You've gotten some good advise thus far...
but you say you want to heal and have high DPS....my thought is, why not play a MasterMind? They heal and they have an incredible DPS...easily solo'd, and great with teams. They offer great balance as well, they buff and debuff very well. /force field, /Dark Miasma, /Poison are some of the more popular secondaries for MMs.
Just something for you to think about (altism, here you come).

Thanks for all those answers, apperently all of you tell you guys tell me to have thermal radiation. Ive tryed it out tonight (woke up now, 14:30) and I am quite happy being able to heal without needing a mob to drain all the time.
Thermal radiation it is.
Now we need to figure what that is best, ice or fire. I am going to be in a group all the time so AoE (Are of Effect) spells will come in very handy for me. I guess fire blast is the best for this as you get both rain of fire AND this fire ball wich explodes in an AoE when it hit the target.

Yes, there is some melee resistance:
Fire Shield - Resist: Lethal, Smashing, Fire 20%, Cold 10%
Plasma Shield - Resist: Energy, Neg. Energy, Fire, Cold 20%
