I found this to be odd

When I was gm hunting with my 50 tank in croa I spotted a small group of red caps that were level 50. I don't think it was someones ambush...heh anyone else experienced something like this before?

One time in Atlas that happened to me, but i think it was an ambush. Level 10 crey were right by the atlas statue and i ran into them with my low level and got killed :(

I once exited a mission in Perez Park (around level 20 or so at the time) and immediatly got attacked by a level 40 ghost. Barely managed to get away alive.

Yes, I've been meeting some high-level villains as well lately. Don't know why though!

I have found this before as well. Can't remember what toon I was on, but I was perusing Croatoa one day, probably for monsters, and while tabbing through baddies, I noticed some lvl 50 Red caps just sitting there emoting like the rest of the ones that normally spawn.

My best guess is simply unattended ambushes.

Some players have a bad habit of not staying to clean their mess when it comes to ambushes especially when it comes to high level enemies in low level zones.
I have been a victim on this on many occasions.

Blasters kill everything, usually before they get killed themselves. When it comes to dealing pain, a blaster has no equal. We just have a hard time taking our own medicine! So we love Tanks and 'fenders!

funniest things in the world are the lvl 53 malta that spawn from a hunting mish in the middle of atlas park. lol i love watching all the little ones get killed or try to kill them :D

This has happened to me on several occasions. I would get ambushed by mobs that were not even involved with my missions. I am pretty sure they were not someone else's ambush because they were my level and locked in on me pretty tight even though I was invisible. One example: I got ambushed by Malta in Brickstown, and I wasn't doing Malta missions. In fact, I hadn't even started Indigo's missions yet so my hero had not yet been introduced to the Malta Group. Very strange indeed.

I zoned in one time from PI to Talos. Just as the boat ramp appears I see a 50+ Artemis beatin on my lvl 40 friend. I was im my upper 30s at the time and didnt stick around too long. Now that I think about it, I should have took a screenie.

That was the first and only time I had seen one of the Knives in Talos.

During double exp weekend I was zoning to talos on the ferry and I was looking at my 43 friend who was losing lots of health...I rush over to her and she's being attacked by level 47's, someone decided he wanted to actually sick his ambushes on the lowbies trying to get to pi thru the ferry...I immediatly smacked him and of cource killed the baddies

almost totally irrellevant but hey I had to share :)

kinda a little off topic but somewhat relevant to ambushes.

i was running a radio in kings once and i was tooling around with my new Kin/arch defender and got an ambush of trolls from my mish. Trolls are Close Combat for the most part and this particular toon is ranged so using Siphon Speed i managed to keep my distance while turning them into pincusions. Not paying attention to my surroundings i over shoot the ramp (rise in the road or whatever you want to call it) and fall down. I hit my zero-G pack and jump back up to a Lvl 43 who eliminates them all in like on shot then begins to lecture me on leaving my ambushes behind for others to clean up. you know I am starting to really get sick of these over bearing self-righteous gamers that charge in and jump to conclusions with out even first assessing the situation.

I am not sure how it is on other servers but it is beginning to get the best of me think i need to start making toons on Triumph and hang with you guys lol.

Wisdom's Redcaps could not possibly have been anyone's ambush. No redcap missions are given that high and, since the story arcs in Croatoa are a trial, you can't let the contacts turn gray and come back to them as you could with a normal story arc.

The only way to get level 50 Red Caps is to have a level 50 attack Jack-in-Irons. When he summons reinforcements, they appear according to the levels of the heroes fighting him. Someone killed Jack and didn't bother to clean up.

that is true i forgot about that the gm spawns those guys i remember someone telling me that a while ago can't remember who.

sorry felt i should chime in and agree considering my last post was way off topic sorry about the frustrated rant guys.
