Whats this deal with choosing a server?
Can you switch from one to the other?

You can play on multiple servers, but switching your characters from one server to another is a paid service...and I believe you have to be above a certain level before you can.
I just chose a server at random when I first started playing.

First it depends on what server type you want to join. RP or PVP. Then it doesnt really matter witch one you choose. I would say its best to join a medium population server (like laughing skull if ur english).
The only reason i chose the server im in now is cos my friends plays there to. Otherwise i would have just gone to a random one

Hello,
Ok, this is how it goes a server is a like a closed community once you're in the only way out to another server is to pay for the transfer service. Yes, it is possible to switch servers but it doesn't only cost RL money, but there's the possibility of you losing items, gold and having to change names and there are a few restrictions. So basically you don't really want to transfer so choose a realm where you're friends are, or you can join me on the Horde side in the Turalyon realm, or Alliance with Dru and I on Earthen Ring and both are US servers. ^^
Now another thing to remember is there are Normal, PvP, RP and RPPvP servers:
Normal: You don't have to rp (role play your character) and you pvp, flag or unflag yourself out of pvp whenever you want.
PvP: You will always be flagged for PvP and you may be attacked by a player of the opposite faction anytime.
RP: You role play your character in game (of course) but it's not absolutely necessary, some people might get offended but it depends on the server too.
RPPvP: combines the RP and PvP servers together.
In my opinion look for a realm where you're friends are if you have any that play WoW, or if not choose a medium population normal server. ^_^

what he means by role playing is people expect you to BE the char your playing, which means they dont want to hear anything about your RL of have normal conversations.
pvp i personaly find more enjoyable since it causes more excitement killing horde/ally which you do the slow grind to 70 which gets very boring.

Other than picking PvP, RP, or RPPvP type of server, unless you have a preference, come join one of the gameamp guilds they are all recruiting right now.
If you dont want to do that may I suggest, shutting your eyes, and point and click!
Sounds good to me atleast... :-P
