Well you know factions and nightfall are stand alone games, since you would not need any other Guild Wars in order to play it.
But Gw:En requires one of the Guild Wars games to be installed in order to play the game

oh I get it now, well I got all the games so I guess it really wouldn't matter to me. But why are they doing that, cuz I know nightfull is south of Crystal Desert, and factions is to the South West.
I would think they would do somthing like that just an add on that you can't reach by foot.

Hmm....I think $40 is a little steep of a price.....its only $10 less than a full standalone GW game was at release, and it doesnt have even a single new profession....I think $30-$35 would have been a better price for it.
Hate to say it, but I dont know if I will be buying it.....not because of the price but A) I'm somewhat bored of GW for the time being and 2) I dont have the money right now(will be going to work within the month though...possibly at Lockheed).
Anyway, I will still be around because of the community, and to find out the storyline in GW:EN.

Sorry to hear that mwpeck but am glad to hear that the community is enough to keep you around...
The great thing is, Guild Wars will still be waiting for you (free of charge :D) whenever you have the free time! :D :D :D
Now, would it have been better if I submitted this as a news article? I was just too excited about this announcement that I totally forgot about writing up an article. If anything, could someone post this up in the news section since its quite early in the morning and I need to go fight my pillows :D

Factions and Nightfall was stand-alone games themselves. You could just add the keys an existing account to "merge" games, not really an expansion. Eye of the North is a true expansion, as it is all level 20 content.

Okay I get it now so its pretty much for experianced GWs people. Does it only at on the the northern part of Tryia or everything factions and nightfall?
Its going to be interesting see how all this plays into Guild Wars 2.

Eye of the North takes us back to Tyria. Though any Campaign can run the expansion. But you have to be level 20 to do it.

Its the charr homeland, far north of ascalon, asura homeland, to the south of the jungle(the area you cant uncover, yet) and far nothern shiverpeaks, probably above yaks, or maybe a small area between yaks and southern shiverpeaks.
And its also many caverns, that run deep through tyria, elona, and cantha.

Awesome news! I can't wait!
I have 2 months to complete my new character for GW:EN (Started a totally new character 3 days ago, this time I'm going for Survivor xD)
Edit:
I hope we can buy the game through the online shop, so I don't have to wait an extra week to buy the game, lol.

I kind of agree. Not a downright scam or playerbase abuse, but still...
Well at least it's not as expensive as a newly released game on top of a sub5ription *wink wink* (edit: AMP, you should tweak your filter hehe...)
And although there are no new professions (might be a plus in regards to skill balancing?) it's not like they skimped on content.
