WoW player, former site admin for WoW-AMP, is taking a hiatus from raiding. In doing so, I bought a new headset so I could play Soldier of Fortune II with my old clan, and in doing so, stumbled upon my old GuildWars guild's (IYF) as well. Turns out, they are still playing, and within the very hour I connected, my good friend, Wreck, convinced me to re-install GuildWars, and that VERY night, I had Factions and Nightfall ordered, and 2-day shipped to my house. The point of this post?
I'm going to troll the GuildWars-AMP page for a while, at least until I go back to WoW. OH! And I love assassins, which is funny, because I never played a rogue in WoW.
Now that my happy story is out of the way, a question...
What assassin build do you find to be the most effective in PvP (mostly Alliance Battles, but I want something useful in Random as well). I have toyed with a few (exluding Shadow Prison), and my alliance battle build is a variation of a Temple Strike build, but I find it unusable in Randoms, as if I get overwhelmed, I'm usually dead before I can dash out of shadow walk. I can beat Shadow Prison sins in Alliance, though, so that's a plus (I have taken a W/D and a Shadow Prison sin 2 v 1 even, but the right builds, or more than 2 people, and I usually end up dashed out or dead).

Hey and welcome to the GW end of AMP! ^^
I love assassins when it comes to PvP and my favorite build is this!
Although I changed mine a bit by adding in Shadow Walk instead of Frigid Armor and adding Dash in the empty space! Just use in the order that it is... Icy Shackles to prevent runners, then Shadow Walk to get close, then the chain, then Dash which because it is a stance it cancels Shadow Walk which makes you shadow step back out of range from danger. Once you do that combo it will take another second for their health to completely drain unless they are a squishy 60AL target (aka casters) which in that case they will die straight away.

No lead attack? I've seen builds skip attacks (Like the palm, horns of the ox, falling spider trick) but what starts your combo off?

black lotus strike and black spider strike req the foe to be hexed only so you dont need a lead, or better said your hexes are your leads.

I use a Dual KD sin I've been thinking about writing a guide to.
Skills-
Mark of Instability
Black Lotus Strike
Twisting Fangs
Falling Spider
Shove[E]
Blades of Steel
Dash or Tiger Stance
Feigned Neutrality or res sig for RA
Hex them first with MoI, then hit then with BLS, TF which knocks them down, then use FS and by that time they should get up again which is why shove is there to get em back down, and while theyre down blades of steel will finish em off. I can kill any monk since i hit them quickly and they get knocked down and they come up and are down before they can cast anything and BoS will finish them off. I can kill any class with it. hope u like it!

Just watch out for monks using Hexbreaker...I've seen assassins use their entire combos on our monk, totally ignoring the fact that their hex failed :P makes me giggle.
And welcome to our corner of gameamp :)
Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons...for you are crunchy, and good with ketchup.

Unfortunately, I have already gotten back on WoW. HOWEVER, the good news is, my guild in GW WON'T let me quit GW either, so I get on nightly for PVP pleasure. I've even made a couple vids and uploaded them to YouTube of me playing my sin in Randoms and Alliance.

I usually kill shadow prison sins. I'll put some footage of that in my next vid. It all depends on how far into their combo they get before I Temple Strike them.

ok a few assa builds im using in AB,
Death blossom spam build
Death's charge
Golden Lotus Strike
Fox Fangs
Death blossom
Moebius Strike (E)
Shadow Refuge
Shroud of Distress
Dash
Dagger msatery 12
Shadow refuge 12
critical strikes 3
runes optional,
Keep spamming Death blossom + moebius, if energy needed take Golden lotus again.

Bit the same, but change the lead attack "golden lotus strike" for "Desperate strike"
This build is made to keep in battle with low HP, because of shroud of distress and desperate strike u have a high dmg and defence.

Noooo.
Theres too many Sins in AB as it is. EEee Gads! It like a chuck norris movie gone bad.
Ive seen a rise in Sin/Derv using knocksdowns and spreading condtions. My poor mesmer was jumped by 8 sins in AB all at once, it was like a scene from Ninja Turtles. Where Shreddars goons were pouncing on me. Only if Master Splinter was here, he know what to do.

No worries... I play my R/Mo sometimes. He's not really a killer, but poisonous crip shot builds help those 8 assassins eat mesmers alive.
