| Finally a DERVISH/ELE build that works |
|
|
|
First of all, I'd like to start by explaining what kind of gear I use. Similiar to my Dervish/Warrior build, I'm using runes to increase my energy total from 25 up to 34. "Radiant Insignia" adds +1 to +3 energy depending on spot of body, and "Rune of attunement" can add another +2 energy to any spot.
After geting the energy to 34, there will be room to add a +50 life rune, and four copies of an important Dervish only tanking rune "Wind Walker Insignia". The "Wind Walker Insignias" add (+5 armor per active enchant, up to +20 armor while 4 are active). Using four allows a potential of +80 armor from that source alone, which will combine with 70 base dervish armor, plus my tanking skills.
Dervish/Ele tank
The skills I use are:
Avatar of Lyssa(Elite Form)
Armor of Earth(Ele Enchantment)
Heart of Fury(Enchantment) / Lightbringer's Gaze(skill)
Stoneflesh Aura(Ele Enchantment)
Crippling Sweep(Scythe Attack)
Lyssa's Assalt(Scythe Attack)
Reap Impurities(Scythe Attack)
Eternal Aura(Sunspear Track Skill Enchantment)
Skills described:
Avatar of Lyssa(Elite Form)
5(cost) 2(activation) 30(recharge)
Elite Form (30-60+secs): You gain +20 energy and +20 max to energy total, and your attacks deal (20-35+) more damage to foes activating skills- This disables for 120secs after use
Armor of Earth (Elementalist)
10(cost) 3/4(activiation) 15(recharge)
Enchantment (30secs): You have (45-55) armor but move (30-20%) slower
Stoneflesh Aura (Elementalist)
10(cost) 2(activation) 15(recharge)
Enchantment (10-15secs): Damage recieved is reduced by (20-27)
Heart of Fury or Lightbringer's Gaze
Heart of Fury
10(cost) 3/4(activation) 30(recharge)
Enchantment 10-15secs: You attack 33 percent faster. When this enchantment ends all nearby foes are set on fire for (1-3secs)
Lightbringer's Gaze (use instead in right area)
5(cost) 1(activation) 15(recharge)
Target Demonic Servant of Abaddon takes 100 holy damage. Target 1 additional servant of Abaddon per rank of Lightbringer. This skill disables for 15 secs
Crippling Sweep
5(cost) 6(recharge)
Scythe attack: If it hits, target foe is cripled for 7 secs per active enchant for a max of (15-20)secs
Lyssa's Assalt
10(cost) 8(recharge)
Scythe attack: Strikes for (15-20) damage if it hits. If you are under the effects of an enchantment, you gain (8-11+) energy
Reap Impurities
10(cost) 8(recharge)
Scythe attack: Strikes for (24-29) damage if it hits. You gain (50-70) health for each foe you hit that is suffering from a condition
Eternal Aura(Sunspear Track Skill)
10(cost) 1(activation) 30(recharge)
Enchantment 10secs: All nearby foes take 88 holy damage. For 10 secs this skill does nothing, then after it ends, all "Dervish skills" including disabled Elite Forms are RECHARGED

Ok, those are the skills, now to explain usage:
My current attributes are:
11 Earth 10 Mysticism
12 Scythe Mastery(including +2 bonus without a minus life mod)
I already typed in the basic order of operation, but I'll give a quick walkthrough.
First of all, in this build I'm using the Elementalist skills to provide my above average armor to tank, instead of using Avatar of Balthazar for that. This allowed me to choose one of the better avatars in my opinion, Avatar of Lyssa. This avatar does 2 major things. Number one it solves the Dervish energy probs, in my case adding another 20 to my already enhanced 34 energy, which allows for choosing more skills that cost 10, and to use those skills more often. Also, the Avatar of Lyssa adds an almost equal benefit of more damage output, in my case with 10 Mysticism I do +35 more damage to foes activating skills. Which one would assume you could engage by coincidence about 50+ percent of the time, so in the long run doing more damage than Balthazar, plus adding mana.
When in sight of enemy, I'll start with activating "Avatar of Lyssa". I had to improve my Mysticism to 10 because the damage bonus from this avatar is dependant on that skill. Also, the enchantment "Heart of Fury" can benefit from this too so it worked out.
Then I cast Armor of Earth, which in my case adds 50 armor which is MORE than Balthazar but slows me by 24 percent. Im willing to tolerate this since much of the time you dont move after you finally make touching range anyways. NOTE: If that is too anoying to tolerate for you, I suggest Whirling Chargestance. It not only adds 25 percent movement, but attack speed as well. The only drawback is that its Wind attribute so you would have to decrease a couple attributes from the other valuable areas.
After Armor of Earth I cast Heart of Fury. Then when just out of fighting range, I cast Stoneflesh Aurawhich is an elementalist skill that reduces the amount of damage received by 23 in my case, and makes you immune to criticals. It should be recognized that a "High armor strategy" especially with "Wind Walker Insignias" will reduce the amount of damage you receive by ALLOT. But when you add a skill like Stoneflesh Aura, it really increases your tanking possibilities on bosses that may normally be 1 hiter killers.
At this point, you're fully enchanted and there should be time left on the Heart of Fury, now I start my attack sequence. I start with Crippling Sweep which adds a condition and applies my regular scythe damage which is 9-41 which happens to be one of the highest damage weapons in game but also one of the slowest. Using Heart of Fury in the build compensates for this though.
Next I do Lyssa's Assalt, followed by Reap Impurities. Both are attack skills so they apply the weapon damage like Crippling Sweep does, plus bonus damage in this case. Lyssa's Assalt does +17 damage in my case and adds 10 energy which essentially makes my next attack Reap Impurities free. And with the cripple condition still active from "Crippling Sweep" I should also gain +63 health as well as deal +27 damage from the Reap Impurities.
Finally, I finish my order of operation with Eternal Aura, which deals 88 holy damage to nearby foes, as well as start a 10 second count down to when all my "Dervish skills" recharge including a disabled Elite form or any other Dervish skill that may be recharging at the time.
Ok, good luck with the build, the only part to get practice on is the chore of pre-buffing yourself, but its worth being able to tank throughout a large mob or hard boss.

FARMING
This build should be able to solo bosses like my Avatar of Balthazar build can. However, if you've mastered the pre buffing build and are still having trouble surviving, I suggest you replace "Heart of Fury" with "Ward Against Melee". "Ward against Melee" uses the earth attribute too, and is a nice addition considering there is no Mystic Regeneration in the build. Also, the Ward against Melee should help any other group members if you're doing a run with small group instead of solo.

This is just a minor suggestion, and having tried the build myself (finally), I'd suggest (for Boss Solo farming at least) including Sliver Armor into the mix. In terms of boss farming (and farming overall) it's a nice addition and improves damage output moreso than Heart of fury (IMO) I found it worked well, but thats just me ^^

My Guide to NOT Flaming: Just give it a look. :)
I'm perfectly willing to help, however due to real life, I can't get on very often. Still and all, feel free to PM me in game or here if you need help.

Nice guide..
One minor suggestion on posting it here though, the purple text is VERY hard to read. Other than that looks great will have to try it out..
