Every now and then I get this really bizarre sort of bug or glitch that's starting to really tick me off. Basically, I'll enter a zone, and it may take a while to realize, but I'll discover I'm the only one there. No NPC's, no players, just me and the dusty, empty streets. As though I were transported to another dimension, I find every accesible door has vanished, and myself unable to escape the zone on my own. Chat still works, so I can request a player to teleport me to his location, which rips me away from the empty zone and back to the real one, but otherwise my only alternative is restarting the game.
i've been getting that alot lately too, or if my friends and i enter a mish i will run up to the nearest enemy and target him and it says out of range while i am standing right next to him, meanwhile my friends keep telling me on their screens that i haven't moved from the front door and that i am just standing there.

If you have the PocketD or Base Transporter, that should work. Also, if you are in a zone where you can get to PocketD, that will also work. For some reason, although you can't take the train or tunnels out, you can still get to PocketD. I had this happen to me in Talos recently and made it into PD.
The 'Alternate Dimension' glitch, also called the 'Twilight Zone' bug, usually happens for players who run with wireless Internet connection, or, have problems with their videocard, try checking out either.
The door bug is pretty known aswell, dont know what the source of the problem is, but it happens frequently, and to everyone. I usually get it if i have autorun on as i enter a mish, maybe it has something to do with the rubberband-zoning, the thing where you get pulled back to your zoning spot (eg. exits train, runs off, gets pulled back to train).

Is there any way to avoid or beat this glitch?
The most friggin' anoying thing in the world, right? well a tactic i used to get out of the zone was to use my Pocket D teleport power, so if u have it, use it. otherwise, send a bug report to a GM, go into the menu and go down to the tab that says "help". file a bug report or glitch report, and they will try to fix the problom quickly

It does seem to depent upon your hardware proile. I get this same error alot when I play on my laptop (which can play the game just barely on the minimum graphics settings) but when I play on my desktop I have never had this happen once.
I Pocket D fix sounds really good, I'll have to give that a try. Another way you can fix it if your running solo (and if you are willing to fork out the inf to do it) is to go and buy a Wentworths teleport power.
