A new MMO based on the hit series Dragon Ball has been announced and is being developed in Japan by NTL.
The Dragon Ball series has been around for quite some time now but fans are always craving more of this action packed series. With many game titles already released Dragon Ball has yet to enter into the world of online gaming, until now that is.
DragonBall Online is an MMO slated for release In Japan in 2008 which means we may not see it here right away but recent screen shots has showed it to be well on its way and looking stunning.

If you have never watched the DB series or played any of the games fear not. The storyline for DBO is set in the age 1000, 216 years after Son Goku left the 28th world. So for those who no nothing about DB’s past the game will be easier to ease into because you are not required to know the history. You’re making it.
As usual players will take the role of a warrior living in the Dragon Ball universe experiencing all things including the hunt for the Dragon Balls which if gathered grant one wish.

In DBO an enemy known as the Dark Eye has divided the Earth into pieces. With the assistance of the Time Patrol Trunks you are set on a journey to stop this evil at all cost, meeting new players and familiar faces on the way.
What is known now is that there will be a few playable races; Earthling, Namkian and Saiyan all with customizable hair, color and clothing. Although it should be mentioned that some sources have said there may only be two races, Earthling and Namkian. As an Earthling you will of course begin your journey on earth, same goes for Saiyans. Namkian’s will begin on New Namek and are guided by their leaders to aid those on earth from this evil force.
One of the most interesting features in this game is the choice to begin it as a child, allowing your character to grow and age as you progress through the game, just like many characters in the series.
DBO will be released for PC and Xbox 360. If running on PC you will require at least a Pentium 4 2GHz or better as well as no less then 512MB.
With DBO far from release there is still much that is not known like game play features and combat styles but that will likely start to be revealed when beta testing begins this summer in Japan.
First, what the hell is up with all the new mmo's coming out at the moment?! If i was going to make a pc game, the last type i would make is an mmo, lets face it .. wow has cornered the market on that hasn't it...
Second, from the movies, i can see that this game, like all other dbz games, is going to have rank graphics. Dont get me wrong, i have loved db / dbz / dbgt for years, but the games just suck, pure and simple!

wow definitely hasnt cornered the MMO market. at all. it is by far the most popular fantasy mmo, but people can only take so many orcs, goblins and trolls.
Personally, I think a Megaman MMO might be interesting, kind of like Megaman Legends but...better..and online.
Ive heard talk of this before...but I dont know if anything will come of it. I know at E3 we are expecting to hear about a new next gen Megaman to come out on the same engine as one of the companies other games (i forgot since consoles arent really my thing) But maybe if that game takes off they will develop an mmo idea further?

to be honest i never really watched the show growing up but i did play the tenkachi budokai games and i rather enjoyed them! i thought they were decent fighting games. I am really looking forward to this, it reminds me of a game that is FUN, not serious like many other MMO's.

With this i am a little bit torn. I love the manga, the japanese verson of the show, the american dubbed version sucks. So this mmo does seem a bit interesting but at the same time i am a bit cautious.
I guess we will have to wait and see...no i will not be buying it...ill just stick to reading the manga.
