Saturday morning, and the lag is back....
3 days in a row now I've been getting lag spikes and d/c. The game has become unplayable. According to the forums and messages I get in-game, other players have been having these problems for weeks. Clearly whatever ANet is doing to sort this out isn't working...or maybe they aren't doing anything at all. EotN looks stunning, from what I've seen on the videos...but I won't be buying it. Why buy a game if you can't play it?

I can't even do a duo uw run :(.I was in la not so long ago and it was like : Lag, running, lag, running, lag, running xD.Took me 10 minutes to get at the storage guy xD

I know its the servers in Frankfurt, I've read through the diagnostic reports I've been sending to ANet.....but this has been going on for weeks!

Well, i understand your utter frustration, but you got to remember that Anet rents such server/routers across the world, now theres one causing trouble in Frankfurt Anet wont just fly over with their private yet and elite team of techies to solve it, the guys over there got to, and it seems they must be having alot of trouble finding the actual bugger in the system.
Although im certain you won't totally agree, you should but EotN anyways, yes, theres alot of lag, but ''Punishing'' Anet to not buy a game just because their having major problems with the lag at this current moment and certainly a few days onward, isn't going to work either. You are stirring up a hornets nest that's already stirred up so to speak.

In the time that the problems occured i have had only 1 occasion related to that; yesterday i had an err-7. Closed GW; restarted it and no problems at all.
It might be harsh to say; but i think the lagg issue of the last few weeks is 80% due to peoples own internal routing and pc configuration and 20% due to Anet's server problems.
Normally you wouldn't notice much because the communication between pc and server is steady enough to compensate for things; but when a server is dying, your own pc problems come more to the surface.
I dont say it's accurate what i say; but i think it weird that a lot of other people dont have any problems at all. The event ran like a dream for me, i dont rubberband and i dont get errors while im pretty close to the frankfurt server.

Aye, for me it worked like a dream too, i already said this in another topic regarding high ping. That a friend, who lives maybe a mile roughly from me, had ping as high as 10K, while mine was at a steady 200-300 during the Festivities, and back to 100 or lower now.

The double faction weekend ruined because of lag, the following Dragon Festival weekend ruined because of lag, this weekend - last night err=005 for 30minutes, now I'm waiting for Shenzun Tunnels to load, it isn't loading, I'm expecting err=005 any second :(
Thats coming up to two full weeks of not being able to play properly.
Am I buying EOTN ? Of course I am, do I have faith Anet will get it fixed - yes. Ok it's taking a bit of time but I'm not paying a monthly fee so I'm not gonna get too upset, sure I miss playing but you know I can always go find something else to do in the meantime.
It is very annoying and I hope they manage to kick whoever is in control over in Frankfurt enough to fix it properly soon!

As you noticed last night with the guild team it was all the UK players getting problems, the theory that somehow its your PC/ISP doesnt wash.

I understand this might not be apreciate among some of you but i haven had any lag this weekend or the week before.
however i had an err-7 due to 7 x internet explorer guildwars (2 x on 1 connection due to internal network) and a photoshop running) [note i was very unpatient so its kinda my own fault]
i will be being eotn as i just enjoy playing gw.
but i understand that if ur not able to play normally in 2 weeks you might start doubting. I only have one tip for you wait for the release before making such statement maybe its fixed in an hour from now. maybe in a week, eotn is coming in a couple of months giving Anet enough time to fix it.

i had ping ranging from 3k to 30k :) i reinstalled guild wars have a ping ranging from 100 to 200 :) may have to dl everywhere i go but at least it doesn't take me 5 mins to sell items at the merchant hehe

The problem for the lag is very easy,The International district has no lag because there is almost nobody. I can still vanquish, farm and help people while in int dis ^^
