| Bad news (but better now!) |

For the last several months I have been haveing abdominal pain and I really didn't think it was serious until I went to the doctors the other day. He told me I have Crohn's Disease,also called ileitis or enteritis.
Crohn’s disease is an ongoing disorder that causes inflammation of the digestive tract, also referred to as the gastrointestinal tract. It most commonly affects the lower part of the small intestine, called the ileum. The swelling extends deep into the lining of the affected organ. The swelling can cause pain and can make the intestines empty frequently.
A thorough physical exam and a series of tests may be required to diagnose Crohn’s disease. So I will be out for awhile. The Doctor said I need to go across seas to europe to have surgery.
I promise to get back to you guys as soon as I can. I will sneak my laptop their so I can atleast chat with you guys on the forums.

If it gives you any kind of consolation, I have a good friend back home who has Chrone's Disease and is functioning quite fine. He gets some digestive issues now and then, but all in all once it's treated, you can live perfectly normally.
Hang in there bud, you'll be back on track in no time.

Houson,
I have a cousin that has been living with severe crohns for 16 years and an uncle that has had it minorly for most of his life. She has been taking her treatment through the Cleveland Clinic which has been excellent for her. There is also the Mayo clinic which she is transfering to. There are several excellent medical institutions in the U.S. that can also help.

Well,I'm in england right now enjoying the nice view that the Hotel provides,so i'm haveing a great time and trying my best to enjoy myself. I'm haveing the surgery on wensday and I'll let you know how it goes on Thursday or Friday. I should be home some time next week (depending on the surgery).
Can't wait to see you all again!

I am sure that Wednesday there will be hundreds of positive thoughts and prayers with your name on them. As a nurse I have seen many patients with Crohn's Disease. They all do well when they stay in good health and keep stress at a minimum. So when you get home kick back and let the stress out on the villians.

I had my Surgery on Wensday and it went well. They did what they had to do and I did what I had to do. I'm going through Recovery currently and I'll be back and running in about a month or so.
