So i10 respecs will be given out monday july 30th.
I just want to know one thing, why are they giving out respecs? Are they adding new powers to each set or something?

By the way, just to let any new players know:
it'll be a free respec so you just type /respec to use it rather than going to the arbiter like with the ones you earn.

Also, free respecs don't stack, so make sure you use any you might already have before then.

Soooo, that would mean you need to have an idea floating around of what you need to tweak...IO set slotting? too many slots in a power? got a power you really don't want/use/need? thought about playing around with a different power combo?

Sorry to disagree with someone, but respecs do stack. My lvl 12 MM has 3 of them. I heard rumors of adding new powersets to two of the hero classes, Scrapper and one of the others, don't know if it is true or not though.

Normal Respecs stack, the ones you earn from the Respec Trials and the Vet Rewards, not the 'free' ones that are gifted by the Devs.

So does that mean I will not get the free respec on my toon that has 3 vet respecs or will I have 4 now? I read some of the board that was linked and it said that the Vet respecs are in a separate pool.

Your vet specs and regular respecs will all be safe. As you sorta answered yourself: the vet specs are in a separate pool of respecs, different from free respecs.
It is only the free respecs that don't stack with other free respecs you might already have.
Edit: So yeah, you should have 4 respecs now. Just make sure you use your new free respec before the next one comes out, because you can only have one free respec maximum. But no hurry, that would likely not be until I11 comes out.

In answer to the OP question, there were really only minor reasons I can find for the devs to have given out the free respecs, the must just be feeling nice. As far as I can tell the only even somewhat significant change that they made was to decrease the activation time of bitter freeze ray.

The way I see it is like this...
The Rikti have been upgraded and underwent costume and power changes, so, with that being said, why shouldn't we be given a free opportunity to get ourselves ready for the new improved Rikti.
Just my take on it...and it provides a significant enough reason to warrant a free respec in my book.

they should add new powers to all the sets, at least i think so.

Your account has to be active in order to receive the 'free' respec.
