ok this question might be a stupid one for some people and a real good one for others but i have to ask it why do guys play as girl characters? (my opinion is i dont think its right) just mine dont take it personal

Well its an opinion, still tho, i don't know why, ill tell you why i have 2 girl charas. My paragon is a girl because i um don't like the male paragon, man skirts are scary. and my 2nd warrior is a girl because i didn't wanna have another big guy warrior, need vareity. Btw i got 10 charas only 2 are girl.

Many reasons why guys play girl characters but the main reasons are.
In no particular order.
The armor looks better.
The dances are better.
If you are going to stare at a backside while playing might as well be a nice one.
Who cares it is just a game so get over it.
It's our choice to play what ever character we want. Why did you pick class A over class B.
Personal Preference.
why do girls make guy characters? BECAUSE THEY CAN. It's just a game dude.

Well personally i think some classes just look better as female and vice versa

I honestly think this(but have no real way to confirm it), is because there are players out there who will give "freebies" to certain characters based on gender, so some people take advantage of it. This is something I saw in WoW when I used to play (Female NE FTW). Another reason is that some female characters offer...*ahem*..."services" in exchange for monetary gain. Just things I've observed >.>

It all comes down to player preference. People pay to play the game and they should ultimately be allowed to choose whatever gender they like.
There are no rules (except for choice of name) when you create a character. There is no gender verification system. No Anet employee demanding people to perform a "Pecker check" when you decide to roll a sexy female toon (can you imagine that though LOL).
People will choose the hero of their story in accordance to what appeals to them most. Just as when you decided which character you wanted, if male players choose to create a female characters then that is their choice as a paying customer.

Covered everything :]
There is only two male characters I have and Thats Warrior and Necro. Necro I dunno >.> and warrior I personally think looks better male (Even if they do look like some buffed up bear >.>)
But yeh, Plus the female characters look nicer and the armour suits my likeing with female characters.

Well, I used to have all female characters, and 9 of them...and then I realized I would never play them all. I deleted all but two (the two furthest along, Ele and Para) and made 4 more chars, all of which are male. Personally, I think the warrior is supposed to look buff...otherwise, how could he carry all that armor? Male Elementalists just look bad, I think, and I agree, a man-skirt for a Paragon seems kinda...weird. Before I deleted my chars, I was making my chars female pretty much to follow what I had done before.

Same with my bf, he has 10 characters, at least half are female. It's really because the models for some classes and their armors do look better on females, and I have to agree with him. Female armors just seem to have better detail overall.
He made his monk a male and absolutely hates him (calls him a chubby dufus, lol), so now wishes he had rolled a female monk instead since they look slightly better (though even those he says look like 12 year old girls, teehee). His female mesmer is his pride and joy though, his favorite armor ever is that 15k Canthan because he loves dragons and that's what the armor has on it.
But yeah, it's a game, people play what they think is something nice to look at. I don't blame anyone one bit for their choice, so long as they enjoy their game :-)

i dont think it really matters who you pick. it just bugs me when i see some noobish 10 year old trying to make love to a female avatar, and that avatar is a guy in real life. makes me wanna slap the dude and get a clue.

I pick mine because if their class mostly.
Male:
Warrior
Monk (Shaolin Monks - male only)
Paragon (though I dont have one)
Female:
Necro
Ele
Ranger
Mesmer
Dervish(because the males look bad in dresses)
Assassin(usually, the smaller the assassin is, the faster they are and the easier they can hide)
Ritualist

Ok heres my stuff im a guy. I made mostly guy charas for that reason, because im a guy too, they should be guys BUT!! There is 2 Girls, they look hot too.
Male:
Warrior
Necro
Assassin
Mesmer

Ranger
Female:
Warrior (2nd Warrior Mostly because she was the 2nd warrior of my account)
Paragon (Because i really dont like the male paragons at all...)
Monk (ONLY class/char i don't own because there too much
responsibility but it would be a female char (and minimum scale size too))

yup if ya gonna stare at some ones ass or try on armour and get ya char neke then they may aswell look nice.^^ ^^
and they look nice. like ncoz look better as females. they are the sexiest class IMO.
yea anyway we do it cuz if ya gonna look at a char for an hour or two then may aswell look nice.

As for looking at the behind of characters for two hours, I don't know about the lot of y'all here, but when I play GW, I don't look at my characters behind all the time. Hell, if you got the cape on, you can't even see it.
I got some female characters, though... I don't know why, guess I base my decision on the armor whether or not I make a character male or female.

is the question why do people make alot of female characters or why do some people make alot of male characters?
why did you make a male char? dont say because your a guy (if you are) and give a reason, mainlyut preferance imo
i got maybe 3/4 guys out of 9
the names i pick for a class are easier fit on a female char anywayut easier

I'm comfortable with the distinction that the character on screen and me are different it allows me to detach myself for the brutality of what the character does: Also I like staring at lady bottoms.

Character selection screen basically asks "Which one of these chars looks the best to you? The fat male warrior or the sexy female ele?"
I just choose what looks the best :D
