Got a new topic question to ask you:
1. How can Anet 'balance' skills and builds so that you may see many 'good' builds to counter each other instead of a few dominating builds and more 'useless' builds?
2. How do you pick if something is a 'nerf' or an act of 'balancing' the game?
3. What would you want to be 'nerfed'?
4. Last question, has Guild Wars been 'nerfed' way too much?
Please put them in paragraph form for me to be able to easily read them, or else I won't.

Well, I haven't been playing GW for that long, but the biggest nerf that I've encountered during my playing is definately the infamous "AoE nerf". I can remember LA filling up with angry 55's, spamming URL's for a petition against the nerf. Some were even saying that ANet should reinburse any costs that had been spent on Superior runes. :S
Unfortunately thats the only major nerf that I can think of from my 9 months of GW experience (my memory isn't too peachy at times :P).

I would probably say the minion master nerf. It wasn't really large and hit everyone, but definitely made every MM go "=["

What I can think of atm
- Soul Reaping - Obvious
- Sand Shards - When first released on pre nightfall event A/D could do like 300 AoE DPS, seriously.
- Protective Bond - 55hp will never be what it once was...
Maybe I'll change if I come up with something else

Minion Master Nerf
Spirit bond Nerf (Nerfed the day i finally got my 55 build T_T)

hmm i dunno i remember the first ai mob change (well the first one during my 22 months anyway) which made the mobs run from (almost) all aoe spells... mostly i disliked it becus i was to lasy at the time to reskill my aoe heavy ele lol resulted in a deletion of that ele (even with her 60k set) ... this was way back b4 factions relesed... got a new ele now tho, but i still never carry firestorm, since that "nerf" made it quite useless imo... the soulreaping change was bad on paper but not really hard to work thru, and besides they changed it again quite soon after for the better i think
i wonder, when they are goning to make the hero ai as smart as mob ai?
apparently i taste like bread, and i am 85% mesmer 80%warrior

SB is still an extreamly effective skill for farming....its one of the staple skills in me and harrow's dual HM UW smite build.
As for the largest nerfs:
AoE Nerf, not only did it stop most farming, it killed nuker ele's in PvE. Thank god they reverted this.
Loot Scaling, I personally dont mind it at all, as I farm and still get good drops, but this caused one hell of a revolt when it happened.
Cant really think of a third, maybe the MM change....I say change because MM's are still extreamly effective if used right. 10 minions is enough, but 20 minions was fun....I prefer 10 minions everywhere to 20 minions in AB. Even though I dont have factions and cant do AB's, it was the most dominant build in AB before they limited minions.

I have never had a nerf effect me at all. When Anet changes something I change and adapt. It is only a nerf when the people it effects refuses to change and adapt.
Instead of whining, why not look for a way to break through what you call a nerf and adapt.

The release of Hard Mode....they made monsters not run away from AoE dmg in normal mode, only HM now. The AoE nerf i'm talking about is when all but 3 monsters would run from you if they were taking AoE damage, which is now Hard Mode only, therefore you can farm Normal Mode without worrying about them running.
It was so bad, SS, SoJ, Gladiator's Defense, etc, caused monsters to run almost as soon as it was activated.

elemental lord of course is the worst nerf they did!
also they nerfed the economy pretty much with factions and nf,
i remmber the times when people would stand in droks forge and sell a max 15^50 sword for 40-50k .

You should farm Hydra's then in HM, you usually can't aggro more then 2 or 3 (more then that is a madhouse or instant kill).
And a friend of mine still farms Griffons (and Hydra's) in HM with his SS-build.
I've never actually had any problems with a so called "nerf" of something. I allway's said that people just needed to adapt a little but and sooner or later 5 extra Farming builds would pop, because they CAN'T/WON'T nerf Farming since it's our only way of income.
So everyone stating "Farming is nerfed" are theoretically saying they 'nerfed' our way of income.

SB + EoE nerf that made 3 man urgoz pretty much useless (in original build), and few other ones. replaced tho
AoE nerf was kinda bad as most of community experienced it (didn't hit me THAT hard tho)

You can disagree, but normal mode WAS reverted when hard mode came out. You are talking about farming in HM, I am saying NM was reverted, NOT HM. Ya see, hard mode is designed to be, well, hard, so they only put the AoE scatter in HM, while completely removing it in normal mode.
I never said farming was nerfed, hell, if anything its better now than ever, less raw gold, less junk to sift through, while getting golds and rare mats at the same rate as before.

EoE is still a great skill, granted it took away the ranger grawl farm(which was fun and awesome), it is still used in quite a few of me and harrow's builds, such as Ravenheart Gloom HM Farm, HM Margonite Farm, etc.
Only difference now in its farming use is you have to actually hit everything.

Nerfs that I noticed the most:
AoE nerf (reverted in NM) & Running: I'd use Whirling Defense/Troll Unguent (when I'd be slowed down by crippling or water hexes) right outside Gates of Kryta. All the Mergoyle or Skele Sorcerer's ranged attacks would make those pesky Grasping Gouls scatter when they updated the AI to feel all the -11s. Same with the Snow Ettins or Minos in Deldrimore Bowl or Iron Horse Mines. Now I get mobbed, litterally, bodyblocking FTL.
Locked Chests - I miss my wreckage runs. Took me a while to warm up to keys, I seriously boycotted them for a while, until I got into FoW chest running. Of course the unlocked chests of NF resetting every month just makes me happier now. :)

The update I was most upset about was definitely the MM nerf. I say nerf because it was most definitely a nerf, they made the MM worse. Other than that, none of the others really bothered me all that much, but two others I think were pretty big were the aggro update (scattering and healing when low on health or in AoE), and the spirit bond nerf (one of the reasons a friend of mine quit, because we couldn't dual farm UW anymore).

No, they made it so mobs only take damage if they are below 90% health, therefore you cant kill all the melee monsters in a mob, that would trigger the death of casters, because you arnt hitting casters.(thats usually how it was used in farming).

You're friend and you should have adapted, me and harrow have a dual UW, 600/smite build that can dual run UW in Hard Mode, works just as easily in normal mode, though its actually faster in HM because they do more damage, so its easier to stay alive as the graspings in normal didnt always trigger SB because their damage sucked.
Most farms that have nerfed any sort of dual farming, me and harrow have been able to easily do, sometimes even easier than before. Now, harrow can run builds that I cannot, even if we have the exact same build, he's just "better" at using it, so maybe thats why we are able to do it still.

I didnt like the Expertise nerf regarding other class stances. I understand for chants and shouts due to it being Paragons' specialty but I liked using Flurry with my Broad Head Arrow build. Well, now I have Heket's Rampage so it's all good >D

Well, they can't because new builds will always be figured out and created to counter the counters counter, thus making the original build worthless and creating alot of other powerful builds in the process.

There is no difference IMO, because whenever ANet "balances" something gets nerfed in doing so.

YES. 100% yes, there were some things that were just uncalled for, the new AI with the release of NF for instance, theres much better ways of handling bots, this just hurts players when all the botters have to do is turn on afew extras and keep making the same amount of money. EDIT: Yes, I know this is only in HM now but the point stands.
