What would you? (weapons) 

Write down here what weopons you WOULD HAVE LIKED to have SEEN in Eye of the North, (scince they cant impliment new weapons into EotN anyway) and give a brief decription of what it would look like, and what its max stats would be. (be resonable please). ie. crossbows, guns, maces, etc.

I would have like to see a 2-Handed Longsword brought into the game. There are alot of one handed ones, and they are just trying to stretch the limit, by making huge regular swords like the fellblade, and longsowrd. The 2-Handed Longswords max stats would be 22-36, instead of the normal 15-22. It would look like a sword, but would require 2 hads to wield, so using a shield would be gone.

So post what weapon you would have liked to see implemented, and who knows, maybe they might find thier way into GW 2! And dont forget, add the max stats only, and a brief deion. And If its somthing like guns, or swords, tell what kind, like a double ended sword, or musket or somthing. So ya...pot back on what you think! I'd love to hear back!

couple of things

1. i would probably quit GW if they put guns in it
2. i understand the point of 2 handed swords, but then again, think of how big they would ave to be?
and they would ahve to make a new class for it
im not trying to flame, just my point of fiew =P

The Norn girl on the cover of all the EotN stuff has a huge broadsword, if her sword is actually that big ingame, i hope it's a two-handed sword otherwise it'll look too corny.

There's a store at my mall that has a huge 5-foot long 1 and a half foot wide broadsword in their display window. I wonder what people would think if you walked around the mall with one of those in a bag, rofl.

I think it would be cool if putting mods on your weapons changed the appearance or effects. A lightning weapon could shoot sparks when you hit people with it, for example, and a firey weapon could leave burn marks where it hits enemies. Barbed swords could have small barbs on the blade, poisonous weapons could have a green haze that floats around kind of like the fellblade animation. stuff like that would be cool.

2 weapons.

number 1: if you have ever read the drenai tales of druss the legend then his blade snaga.

it has a massive haft the length of a big mans arm with runes up its length is black.
the blades are butterfly wings dual. with a runes saying SNAGA THE SENDER.

2 if you have read the skilgannon part of this series his swords.

kep in one seath with a balde hilt at either end with ruby pommels and no cross guard the grips are ivory. the baldes are called the swords of night and day and one is black wit a animation of light shimering across it followed by scrolling stars with a moon at the tip.

the other the sword of day is golden bright and would reflect the light when it is swung and will appear to have shafts of light down the balde when it strikes

i totally agree with this ^^
it would be fun that you can really see what kind of mod there is on your weapon...ctrl+click only says the mod but doesnt show anything...so small skin changes for mobs will be awesome imo ^^

I would like to see more choices in the Weaponssection involving how to handle it.
Like Mace's for one-handed Hammers and two-Handed Sword and such.

And my personal favorite would be a Zweihänder.

on a serious note like said above, just imagine how big theyd have to make em. Guns could be fun but most of the goody goody non violence people would protest and that would end that so...

actually i think 2 handed swords would be cool.the extra damage would be helpful as too my 2 haded snaga well it would have sometin like 20-45dmg. and its snaga . so a 15^50 with a 20/20 and a double adrenaline max. so that would be beyond cool.

imo guns would ruin the game, if you got guns snd that then you got some technology.

that'd ruin the medevil atmosphere of GW.

we gould fight with swords with armour or use guns, see what i mean. and guns that fire 10 dmg.

dont seem realistic, at least with arrows your armour will help a bit, but pices of lead fired form a gun doing maybe 40 if you lucky....


as for the duel wielding, i woudlnt mind if they were in gw, aslong as they took the offhand spot too, so like a sword would have example 13-25 (dont ogt a warrior), duel wilding would be in same slot but 16-40 (total, not each) less defence more dmg.

Mods that convert damage to holy, choas, dark or shadow damage.

Bow grip of Wilderness Survival +1

Mods that increase preparations or stances 20%

Mods that extend all conditions 10%

Trapper's Walking Stick (staff for rangers) WS requirements

Bows with WS requirements

Insightful mods for weapons

Elite skill similiar to Martyr but work on Hexes. (Mesmer skill)

A skill that transfers hexes to adjacent enemies similiar to Epidemic (maybe removes it from target but transfer to his allies to balance it)

Collars for your pets so you can mod them, alot of possiblities here.

I think 2 handed Sword or Axe would be really cool, that way in case you don't really look good with a shield, you can turn to any weapon class and still not need a shield.

More swords with animations. I want my friggin cruel longsword of swordsmanship to look cool and professional. For new weapons I don't think we need any new types. You need new weapon types when you have new classes. Adding a whole different kind of weapon for a certain class would mean they have to add a new type of mastery meaning they would have to do that for every class. That would give them more work to do later on and for what? A sword you hold with two hands on your warrior?

but what is +5 energy from a mod and +5 for an inion.

and at least warriors are given a choice of weapons

And as far as the holy, chaos, etc. damage mods they do take armor into account when used on a weapon see wiki "damage type".

They take armor into account but there is no monster or character with armor resistance unlike every other class. Or at least that is how it was explained to me by rouge a long time ago.

Afaik chaos or dark or shadow is armor ignoring, so imbalanced ;)

Btw, I see you like trappers ;)

As for my things, I'd like to have more mods, like dmg +30% while health is below 30% or damage +40% while health is above 90%. Or +1 or 2 energy for each enchantment/hex/other you have. Just examples, I just like variety.

As far as the two-handed swords and axes and one-handed hammers....they could do that buy skins alone. Just have to use hammer mastery for the two handed weapons and use axe mastery for the one handed hammers.

Another way they could change that is to just update the Warrior attributes from axe sword and hammer to just one-handed and two-handed weapons. i mean...how often would you actually puts attribute points into more than one weapon attribute at a time. they could still have skills that required a sword, hammer or axe to use them...like dwarven battle stance requires a hammer to use it. Scythe mastery skills have both melee attacks and scythe attacks, so they could do it like that. Skills would require a specific weapon. such as sword, axe or hammer, and base damage would be applied by having skill points into single or double handed weapons.
