Duo Supergroup

ok, so my friend and I each made a few characters who are conceptually part of this supergroup, the leader of which is one of mine. They are all named something like SpecOps Psion (mind/sonic troller) or SpecOps Marrow (spines/regen) or SpecOps Polarity (grav troller) and the like. We decided that we would take advantage of a different SG's base and stuff till one of us got to like lvl 20 or so, then create a SG for our people, the SpecOps Squadron. Would we be raking in enough to have a decent base if we each had like 7 or 8 toons in the SG to get the bonus for the frst 15? how hard is it to do something like that? I have never been in charge of a base, so I have no idea how much anything costs or anything.

whew.

PS-I might post some cool screenies of all of our toons, they are all in the Stealth uniforms, each with a different color detail.

Its not easy but it is possible. Me and a friend Of mine did the same thing on Infinity server with our SG "The Legends of Freedom" and first 15 bonus will give you enough to start a working base. After that it does take a little time with only two people to build up a nice fully functional base with porter and all the extras. But thats half the fun so enjoy.

What server are you guys on?

I've been wanted to do something similar with some peeps but things never materialized.

Nasali, Deadman and myself once talked about a villain trio but that never happened either.

Hopefully Swiss will comment here because he has a Victory SG with just his toons in it so he can work on base building.

And I definately recommend starting the SG at 10 to maximize prestige intake.

A duo group can defintely have a fairly usable base. You'll want to stick with the "tiny" plot to minimize ongoing costs. You can get yourself a couple rooms, maybe 2 teleporters, a med bay and a workshop. Likely you'll need to get up into the 20s all the time running in Supergroup mode to amass the Prestige required.

If its on a server that isn't Triumph, I'd be happy to park an alt or two in there so that you could get the bonus for me being there.

Currently, I have 10 or 12 heroes in my supergroup. LordX has 1 and I have the others. While I had a trial account I created another 10 to join the group. They are still listed in the roster but haven't logged on in over 250 days (I don't know if they still give me the bonus or not).

Here is how the group pans out...

I have Swiss Spines (the toon I created the group with) currently at level 37. He is there to primarily gather the SO enhancements that the lower levels can sell. He is also continuing to run in supergroup mode as well.

I then had like 10 others that I created for the group. I tried to create various types of heroes and some that I had yet to play.

You can click on the link in my signature to see details of the characters. I made sure I had my healer, an Arrow Blaster, an Ice/Storm Controller, a Tanker, a couple Scrappers, and a Rad/Rad defender.

I made sure I had some that I could use solo, because I tend to play at non-peak times (early morning (5 - 7am) and once in a while after midnight). The biggest downfall to a single user supergroup is the prestige is not gained very quickly. I do what I can, and those are the toon I play with mainly, but I still don't have tons.

Here is what I have:

Entrance (4x4) - with 2 banners and weapons showcases (veteran awards)
Workshop (4x4) - with an enhancement storage table (holds 100), Salvage storage rack (holds 999), personal safe for Invention items (varies in capacity for each hero), and an Inspiration storage machine (holds 100).
Overview Room (9x9) - This has Laptop Computer/Power supply, and Basic Workshop table. As well as some decor this includes a small supergroup conference table and podium.
Medical Bay (4x4) - this has a medical transporter, so I can teleport back to my base instead of the hospital (good for picking up more inspirations or dropping off enhancements). There is some decor in the medical bay to make it look official (but not much).
Teleport bay (2x4) - This contains a teleport pad with a single beacon. I would need a larger room to get additional beacons.
Workshop (2x4) - This is currently empty due to insufficient funds. I would like an additional enhancement table when it is possible. This would store the Invention Origin enhancements that will be created someday.

This creates a circle base. It is functional and is nice to have for storage and trading of items to my other heroes when I am on alone.

I have redone the base 2 or 3 times now and each time I learn a bit more about the best options to have and how I should set thing up (which is why I created the team in the first place).

You can make a very nice starter base with just the bonus from the toons and if I had other user running around making prestige as well I could see where even one or two more could cause the totals to really rise quickly.

I would suggest trying it. Make a group and try it out. I love that you don't lose and prestige when you delete things and redo your base. I can keep working at changes and not lose all my work thus far. Remember that any item you made with salvage and then delete, you will lose the salvage (teleport bay for example). In that case I just made sure to move it to a different location before deleting the room.

Wow, that was a lot of information... sorry about that. I can post some pictures of my base to give you an idea when I can get on next.

wow, thanks for the responses! my friend that is doing this with me is Shiva333, he is on GA.com i think, and i think he is friends with you, Big. it would be totally awesome to have a bunch of ampers in the SG, as long as you name your toon SpecOps and have a Science origin, and PM me for the costume instruction if interested. we have at least one of every AT so its totally up to you guys what kind of toon you want. we might already have enough to get all the bonuses, but we would love having you guys there to have like a full team of agents from the SpecOps Elite Squadron. :) btw, its on the VIRTUE server.

ok well i just read the post about a bigger forum post box, and i aggree.

i wanted to keep this a bit open so that anyone who wanted to join into the SpecOps idea could give me a heads-up, here are some potentially helpful builds. These are by no means rules or directions, just some builds that would help out a bunch with the characters that Shiva and i have found particularly fun.

empathy/anything
any sort of blaster, theyre not really my thing...
ice or stone tank to be super-aggroing
a dark miasma defender (i would, but i already have a 50 and shiva333 has a 32)
hummmm i think thats it. you can do whatever you want, chances are we have something to compliment, but we are a bit lacking heals-wise.

this is gonna be awesome if we get a few ampers going with it!

I posted a shot of my base I have been working on. I have not put all the details back in yet. I redid the entire base and made the layout a little easier to get around. Also I would suggest getting the larger Workshop (the 2nd one) because the smallest can only hold like one of each type (1 storage and 1 table) but the next size up can hold like 4 storage units (much nicer for not much more prestige).

Ran into SpecOps Amped today while in game so I went ahead and set up a Coalition on Virtue with Delphon, Detra, UUG and my SG, the " Mutant Marine Corps ", so you now have TP and base rez capability.
Delphon has a nice "Basic Base Guide" posted here if you need an outline of what you need.

I must admit...I was tempted to sway to the light-side....

I too made a toon yesterday...SpecOps Thorn, a Spine/Regen Scrapper (almost forgot that I didn't have Hide like my Stalkers...lol).

I'll be on today for an invite (still in tutorial).

Not sure how often i'll play her, but whenever a SG night happens, i'll plan on making it happen!
