i see signatures of some of you that has a movie in it, but as a .gif file.
i've searched on the internet for how to do this, i've found several programs but none of them seem to work. or i get an error or the preview just shows nothing. if anyone has a solution please say so :o

Aye, i'd be glad to hear the solution to that too.
They all say use Imageready on AVI file and then select how much frames it should be, sounds lame to me cause it never resulted in anything, not even giving an error that suggests anything about it, just the standard ''file not supported'' stuff, which happens too when you open a .word file or something >_>

Yes, I have made .avi into .gif by dragging the .avi onto the Imageready Icon on my desktop. As seen in this picture (yes that is me :)), you can change the frames and which ones you want to keep. I PM'ed Tribina about making a guide but Trib never pmed back or made it :

To convert avi to gif I use VidGif!
It supports not only AVI, also WMV, MOV, MPEG and other video files!!
It's very simple for me!! =)

Meh someone beat me to it. Yes you can use imageready. But don't make a .gif from a whole movie or it'll be massive in size =P

You did ressurect a very old topic, but we shall not blame you for that, you seem to know how to use the search function, placing yourself one step above the average user here.
