Considering how dumb shivans are, compared to a live player, I'd say it still counts as Soloing.

Btw, the build is Stone/Super Strength, and I'm lvl 37.

Congratz on your first AV soloist. I also soloed Envoy of Shadows on my ill/kin. Found him the easiest out of the most AV's. Also to say Shivans are not stupid they have a good debuff and damage out put in which w/ out the shivan you probally wouldnt of been able to solo the AV

the only AV's i ever ran into prior to the 40's (before the new Faultline) were FF the troll guy (his name escapes me) and Dr. Vhaz.

Which Story arc is that one? looks cool or more specifically which contact leads you to that?

I'm sorry mate, but because you had an Elite Boss on your side (and whether he's dumb or not doesn't matter, he still hurts a lot), I cannot consider this soloing. You did a nice job, but I say you hadn't soloed him.

WP, you had no one else on your team and used the weapons that you had at your disposal. So yes, it's definitely considered soloing.

I soloed this guys 3 times as an EB on my ill/rad. He is fairly easy in my opinion. I used no shivans just insperations. My only problem was that dark toggle he had where if you got close you took damamge. Well it kept killing my phantasm since he is weak to negative energy.
Gratz though on "soloing him"

So therefore, according to your logic, a controller who summons minions never truly solos? Use of a power even to summon a creature to fight at your side is still just that, a power. WP soloed this one.

The Elite Boss version of the Envoy is WAY WAY WAY easier than the AV version. So it's definitely a big accomplishment for him to take down a +2 version of the Envoy AV.

Of course, now he still has to do it a couple more times in the story arc. :)

Okay so we'll have to get a rikti TF going for you they are level 35-50 so you can do it. We'll need 4 50's to SK the lower toons and the remeaining toons can be any level from 35-50. This is a fun TF, with lots of AV's and surprises along the way.

I'd definately run it again on Triumph sometime soon with Big. It was a lot of fun and pretty easy. The Honoree is such a nubcake it's not even funny.

Hey...let me get my MM up one more level (to 35) and I can join you guys :) Nice to have a Villain's presence to help run amuck...amuck, amuck, amuck...with heh???

I just dinged 34 and I'll try to work diligently on getting him to the next level so i can partake in the Lady Grey SF with you guys :)

Oh, I would agree that WP did a great job with his AV win. Whether he used a Shivan or not, going up against a AV is nothing to downplay, especially if it's done without teammates. I also noticed that this fight actually occured without any use of Inspirations as well...which is a feat in and of itself!

I'd say, using a Shivan is like using the WB Rocket rewards...they do some debuffing and allow you to grab the upper hand...use any and everything at your disposal to even the odds!

Great job Warron! I've come up against that chump soo many times. He's like a turd that won't flush in that quest chain!

IMHO if you were the only live player in the mish, you solo'ed it. You simply found the right spells/powers/demons to summon in your fight against this nefarious villain. You are a smart tactician, and I doubt those who scoffed could do what you did.

The only one of the AV's I was ever able to solo was the Nemesis AV, and he's pretty lame.

Again, great job! How long did the fight take?

I have yet to try soloing an AV, Speed only does smashing damage, but bringing a Shivan along to help seems very effective. Thanks for the inspiration, this is something I have to try for my self now.

Blasters kill everything, usually before they get killed themselves. When it comes to dealing pain, a blaster has no equal. We just have a hard time taking our own medicine! So we love Tanks and 'fenders!

Very nice WP!! Congratz! Soloing an AV is not an easy task these days, with any AT. And I do not think that using temp powers that are available to anyone that sees fit to obtain them, diminishes the accomplishment one bit.

I completely agree. Temp powers are part of the game... and can be used to the players advantage. Any true hero who has studied his enemies will come prepared to defeat his foe, especially if it means getting a special upgrade just for this purpose.

I'm sure WP has faced the Envoy many times before, and like the rest of us, he prolly ended up on his face. Studying the enemy allowed him to determine what strategy was best to come out on top.

Everyone who has read comic books know that sometimes the hero had to use special powers to achieve victory over the toughest foes (such as AV's).

I like it, and I commend it, WP certainly did solo that AV, what's more, he didn't use a single inspiration. WOW!!
