| The anti climactic ending of thr rikti war |

Somehow I expected a better ending to the Rikti war. I thought we'd have a surge in opponents maybe for the night tuesday and then them just retreat and an announcement that they were driven back. Instead, they just stopped and there was a blurb on the sign in page about it. Gotta say I miss it already. It would have been cool for the last night to have gone like from 8 PM till midnight with constant fighting. instead we got a note saying that most of the fighting was over. Seems typically lame to me. I just think these guys never get it right. It was very anti climactic to me.

Well I have to agree with you on that it was anti climatic. I think you shoulda did the Grey's task force that night so it would seem more real. Woulda been cool if there was one last final battle but most people were getting tired of the red admin text in the their chat logs. I will miss the event greatly.

Well I have to agree with you on that it was anti climatic. I think you shoulda did the Grey's task force that night so it would seem more real. Yeah the rikti TF was great. I did it twice recently, but one last big blow out battle would have been a great way to end it. It just sort of ...stopped.

This is how the world ends, not with a bang, but a whisper.
It's not over. The frequent events are ended, but they will still be invading random zones as part of the LGTF. Also, during August and September, there will be days with tons of random invasions.
Personally, although they are fun, the invasions make my machine lag like crazy. So I'm pretty happy they're over.

Its not really over. It's just not going to be as insane as the last couple weeks have been.

Personally I liked the attacks. I wish I could have shut off teh notifrication at times, but other times I was watching for it. I ended up with about 4 guys with the accolade. it works to a point, but it can be overwhelmed pretty easily with a few too many Psi around, or an AV actually. Went in against hero-1 the other night with it on, and he cut right through it like it wasn't there.

It's not really over. Invasions will still be spawned from a few things happening. And they've already said this type of invasion will return, most likely, on a monthly basis. Or something of that nature.

The war is far from over. This is like when the president announced "the end of major combat operations" in Iraq. That's not the same as "the end of the war." They've simply taken too many losses to be able to keep up the pressure. They've consolidated their remaining forces in the Rikti War Zone, where they are digging in and preparing for a long seige as they attempt to recover the mother ship.
I'm sure the Rikti find this as much as a dissapointment as you do, but they just didn't have the forces available to mount that "grand finale" you wanted.
That doesn't mean you'll never experience a Rikti attack on Atlas Park again, though. They will continue to retaliate against one random zone every time a team reaches a certain point in the Rikti task force.
Perhaps, someday, there really will be an end to the Second Rikti War. When the end comes, you just might get that explosive finish you wanted. If we're lucky, they'll blow up the Hollows on their way out.

Anti-climatic is a very good way of describing it.
It's a bittersweet thing, actually. I would have like an epic alien battle to cap off the hourly invasions.
However, I won't miss the lag.
Thankfully, we can still kick alien. . .um- butt?. . .and we still have a very cool task force. I hope people take part in it often so we can continue to experience zone raids.
