| Newbie Build Advice Please |

Hey folks. I'm an old player, only CoH was around when I quit, but now I'm back and embracing my evil side.
After looking at the various ATs available, i've decided to go with a stalker. Here is the build I am looking at, i'm hoping I will be able to level effectivly while being strong pvp too.
Any advice on the build would be great. Also, i've not put any IO's and HO's in, mainly because I don't have a clue about them, need to learn about them in game before I start on them :D
Lastly, this is my only villain, so I'm going to be working without inf support.

Unwelcome Shoadan, nice of you to embrace your evil side :)
You have picked a very solid build in EM/Regen to start your Villainy with.
With the IO sets, I wouldn't worry about those until you hit the late 20's/early 30's..that's when they really start to play themselves out. There are sets that max out at like 20 or 30 or 40, and that's the max you'll be able to get from them. Instead, I'd just go with the basic IOs (that really give better bonuses than lvl 50 SOs, starting at level 35).
One thing to consider with the IO sets, look for the set bonuses that you will receive. That is the key to picking the right sets.
But your build looks pretty solid (and i'm working on little sleep and busy at work, and just glanced over your build :) ). Good luck and if you ever need a hand in game, jump on the Gameamp.com chat channel and send a shout out to your local neighbor hood Amper.

Here's an unwelcome from me too. I don't know that much on good builds but it looks ok to me. I tried that same build till lvl 4 then I took my main MA/Reg stalker to lvl 13...
Well i just wanted to say hi!

Wow, fast replies. Thanks for the info, all.
Currently level 3 and confused as to why when I run off and rehide, the thing that was chasing me, still seems to be able to see me. Is this normal, or am I messing something up? :)

Nope, that is a normal reaction. When you aggro someone, they are still 'keen' to your position, because you are still on their radar. Try running away a little further or staying away from them a little longer, giving a chance to break the aggro (i.e., they forget about you).
One downside to Regen, nothing to throw them off of your scent, except time and distance or a combination of the two. /Ninjitsu is built better for this scenrio as it offers a couple of powers that can 'hide' you from someone that previously had aggro on you.

No it's normal, annoying but normal. When they do that i like to round a corner, stealth, then use my strongest non assasin attack for some extra damage.

Welcome to GameAmp!
And at level 12, you can also use Placate to basically hide yourself for but a single foe (the one you used Placate on).

I would skip Super Speed as a Travel. Now don’t get me wrong I love SS but not as a primary travel, makes me so mad. There are a ton of buildings in CoV and it makes it hard to get around the zones. Keep hasten you will need that but drop SS, or wait till later to get it. I would suggest Super Jump or Fly even TP isn’t that bad. With the exception of Grandville SJ and TP are good to get around. Grandville has some really high buildings and Fly is about the best travel for there.
Why did you skip Resilience ? It has a resistance to Toxic, Lethal, Smashing and Disorient. It is not a toggle so no end is used.

EM/Regen i also skipped Resilence even thought i am currently lvl 40. It is hard to fit in with all the other regen powers.
Also In my own opinion if you are looking for some nice pvp that defiantly get either SJ or SS. Fly and TP are a complete waste for stalkers in pvp. Fly isnt fast enough and is annoying to control and TP is just a waste of endurance and if you are chasing someone or trying to get away it might not be the best for that either. Leme throw a build out for you that i think could help. Mine is monstly pvp.

I'ld have t disagree tp is a great travel power for pvp, it takes some getting use to but if used correctly it compensates in a small way for the tons of emp biffed guyz out there who always c you, hit BU, then tp next to target and hit as b4 u fully land and u'll be floating, avoiding most quills,caltrops,tripmines ect and when ur as goes off hit with a follow up and its a great combo
